Powerplay Bounties and Merits

I was bounty hunting in a RES. From time to time ships from opposing powers turned up marked enemy, so I blew them up.

1. I now have various bounties in my transactions, which I guess are against me. Can someone confirm that?

2. Is there any way to get rid of them? I went to an IF, but didn't see anything there.

3. ASAICS, I didn't get any merit points for them. Have I missed something, or was it a complete waste of time blowing them up?

That approach would only work in the control system of an enemy power. you will accrue Powerplay bounties against you (which will show up on the PP bounty boards if u get in the top5 bounty size) as with all bounties, if u dont have notoriety u can clear them at an interstellar factor.
Your best-bet is to contact your power's playerbase likely on Discord. They can help give you ways to play how you want while getting your merits in the most efficient ways, and its never a bad thing to get appreciation from others for things you wouldve done on your own anyway 😊

Were the ships of those opposing powers just marked as enemies or also as "Wanted" in this particular system?
Ships of factions not belonging to the controlling/exploiting power of that system are marked as "Wanted", can be killed, and earn you bounties just as if you killed a random wanted pirate. Dock at a station in the system and you can hand in the bounty, or at a IF.

If you kill a ship of the controlling/exploiting power of the system, you get a bounty on your head, but you can "fix" that at any IF.

In the context of "undermining", you can only earn merits by killing ships of the controlling power in a control system, not in exploited systems, and not in systems of your own or a 3rd power.

I'm not sure if they were wanted. They were definitely marked "enemy". I was pledged to ZH and bounty hunting in one of his systems to get the bounty money bonus. I didn't become wanted, nor did I get any warnings when I shot them. I've done this before a couple of years ago, but I never saw separate transactions in my transactions panel.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, but I think you're misunderstanding my questions. I'm only signed up to PP to get the bounty hunting bonus. I know and understand how PP works because I've participated in it for many hundreds of hours in the past, but I have never seen these transactions in my panel before. tThis must be something fairly new. My questions were very specific. You'd be my friend for life if you can answer them.

ah k. are they bounties on you from minor factions or powers?

If you are pledged to ZH and are in a ZH system, you will not earn merits killing ships of enemy powers.

Somebody else may confirm, I think* all ships of enemy powers toward the controlling/exlpoiting power of the current system are tagged as "Wanted".

Similar but the other way around, disregarding of the current system, all ships of other powers will be tagged as "Enemy" for you.

So if you are in a system controlled/exploited by the power to which you are pledged, all ships of enemy powers should be "Enemy" and "Wanted".

Killing ships of an enemy power will get you a PowerPlay bounty by that power (that can be cleared at a IF), but it will not increase your notority.

* There is a special case with respect to ships of enemy powers affiliated with the same superpower, that you are not allowed to kill on sight, at least not for undermining, and you actually get merit-penalized by your own power. ZH is affiliated with the Federation, so you are not allowed to kill ships of other powers also affiliated with the Federation (= F. Winters).
I am not absolutely sure whether ships of such "superpower-affiliated" powers will be tagged as "Wanted" in systems of your power, and whether killing those would also give you notority - maybe somebody else can shed some more light on that.

Thank's that cleared some of the way for my understanding. I have 4 of these bounties and they're 11,000cr each, which is a lot more than a normal bounty. They have the police badge symbol next to them, so I guess they're penalties. It doesn't make sense that I'd get a higher bounty on me for killing enemy ships in my own controlled space than I'd get for killing innocent ships.

11k is the usual bounty per PP kill, 1k for shooting at a PP ship, 10k for killing it. Yeah, I can understand that you think it's a bit much. Then again, usually you just kill some random bloke of a local faction nobody really cares about, and the respective faction just fines you for the sake of it - but it also draws the attention by police and random headhunters.
For PP, I mean, I do a honest good service to the whole galaxy by killing Mahonists, and Fat Eddy still has the guts to put a bounty on my head! That get's my blood boiling every time and I just have to kill some more!!! At least police and normal headhunters don't care that I killed a few thousand Mahon ships, and just watch the show, secretly cheering for every kill I score.

10K is peanuts compared to the 'main' C+P. At notoriety 10 an NPC slaps you 2 million per kill- which is doubled (or increased) with Antal and ALD.
