As some of you know, the bounty system is getting a redo. Bounties now go away after a certain period of time, and you can't pay them off.
I will probably have the largest problem with not being able to pay off bounties. This is probably going to cause a big problem for bounty hunters. Say you are hunting and are hostile with the local pirate faction. Say three guys come in and two of them attack you. Your natural response is to retaliate, but say you accidentally target the guy who didn't shoot and therefore you have not scanned him. Because of that, you then get a small bounty and can run to pay it off. After Powerplay, you have to wait about 15 minutes for a 300 cr bounty to go away, making you have to leave the game until the bounty goes away. I would preferably have you still able to pay off bounties, but at a price 2 or 3 times larger than the actual bounty you have. A second possibility would be to be able to pay off bounties up to a certain point, say 1,000 perhaps. This way bounty hunters could get rid of accidental bounties fast, and big-time pirates would have to either pay a huge amount, or wait a long time. Before you say anything, I know about the fact that bounties only go to minor factions. That may nullify my point, but I don't really get it yet.
(I hope I didn't break any forum rules. Sorry if I did)
