Powerplay community goals (similar to weekly missions but power wide)

A quick and crazy idea....

Why not have per Power community goals? A community goal is essentially one shared task, so why not have each power have a set task each cycle?

For example:

Expand 10 systems

Gain stronghold for 5 systems

Undermine 10 systems until the become unoccupied

...and so on.

These would drive powers to do large scale Power related things in a decentralized way just like pledges have weekly missions. The reward might be a doubling of money rewards, have temporary buffs drawn from other powers (so for example Delaine might have a prize bonus of mining rewards for that week), buffs on UM, fortification bonuses, or anything really. This would link in well with the coming Vanguards too, where groups can work together for a common goal.

Love this idea! You could have concurrent CGs for opposing powers where the winner makes a significant incursion into the opposing power’s territory.
Yes, and no in a way. I like the idea but I kind of think any territory loss / gain should be down to the PP2 mechanics, and that the bonuses enable better UM triggers (after all the tug of war stuff alread is a mini CG :D ).
