Returning player here (3rd time around). Am actually looking forward to the Power Play 2.0 release, I've been through the deep dive and read some stuff about it and seems like the rework is actually going to turn it into a more worthwhile experience. My question is, I'm curious if anyone has read, because I have not heard about this aspect specifically, if the rework is going to include a change to how the control ethos works for each power. My concern is that under the current system the PP ethos seems to be at odds with the greater faction's philosophy. For example Federation allowed government tyes are Corporate, Confederate, Democratic, etc, yet the control ethos gives him a bonus with feudal government types, which the Federation can not even be. Some years ago this led to a mass flipping of Federation systems to feudal types and Hudson's "Federation" space is now dotted up with monarchal controlled star systems either independent or belonging to other factions. This had the unfortunate effect of undoing the work of alot of minor player factions who were happily doing their own thing and some of whom were Federation factions, who would have been Hudson loyal, found themselves deposed in their systems in the name of Powerplay to take advantage of an ethos that really didn't make sense. One would think the PP faction should be stronger when it embraces its own compatible system government types and work hand in hand with the BGS, not be at odds with it.
