PowerPlay Horizons

For starters, as always, congratulation for this really great game !
Especially when knowing that it'll grow for many years as I know we all hope.

This is a way of introducing my suggestion. For now Elite:Dangerous and the expansion, Horizons, offer a magnificent base for many things to do but I think some links are missing.
In my honest opinion, the game is to much segmented in different exclusive activities.
For instance, I love CQC, I played until rank 48 since it was release (so, quite some, but not so much), but I have to make a choice for my gaming time to play regular Elite or CQC.
I also think that this makes even more difficult to organize team play, as every team mates have many different and important things to do, and space being quite large and people having different time tables, everyone ends up in its own activity.
Same for PowerPlay, which is really great and an amazing motivation for community play, but getting rank 5, each week is quite a lot of time and exclude some time for other great activities.
And same for Horizons, great starters for this season expansion, but exploring planets and moons is completely appart from PowerPlay or CQC.

In that spirit, may I suggest Crime Sweeps and Conflit Zones on planet surfaces, maybe even with turrets, skimmers and SRVs, in different types of battles. We could imagine Battlefield-like battles on planets with points to hold for instance. Anyway, I think it would be a good idea to vary from simple greens against red blurry fight in hollow space. Even just putting Crime Sweeps in asteroid fields or around some stations would be nice.
That also brings the idea of some PowerPlay Community Goal to destroy a station or weaken it, and maybe next cycle to rebuild it.
Fortification for PowerPlay could be linked some way to Planetary Landings, like collecting data with SRV or other specific loot.
It would also be really great to find a way to include CQC to the rest of the game, maybe through Powerplay, and being able to fight in specific places related to weekly cycles for merit.
That may motivate people to play some aspects of the game they are not used to and may be linked to the future ability to embark some combat fighters in large ships.
Also mission that could earn merit instead of credits, even a few as long as it also gives a bit of rank too. And why not some PowerPlay NPCs in Hazardous Sites or around beacons ...
Of course, it would be possible to imagine some kind of limitation of the amount of merit gained per activity if there's fear of PowerPlay becoming to easy.
And I really wait for some CQC on planet surfaces !

In short the general idea is fusion. This should be a nice way (for developpers) to make new content without creating some, just mixing up what is already done, and really take advantage of the potential of the game.
