Yeah, absolutely. I had stopped short of mentioning removing the Prep choice to FD, or an automated system, although I have suggested that on my power's subreddit. Maybe FD could even have an overseer "acting" as the Power themselves. For a short term solution, this could be implemented, I wouldn't have a problem with that. Reducing the systems that are up for grabs at any one time would then concentrate more players into the same area and therefore technically involve more PvP in open.
More mission types are definitely welcome as you suggest and tied in to PP. This could mean that non-affiliated cmdrs can also make a difference.
I would even like to see missions where a player wing is actually required as well. Bases in asteroid fields would be cool and effectively could host epic battles in and around them. Currently the strike zones, conflict zones and USS areas etc are all rather devoid of "stuff". High intensity conflict zones in RES type asteroid belts would be crazy. Bit off topic I suppose now!
