Powerplay Powerplay interdictions are annoying

Ever since 1.4 launched the frequency of powerplay interdictions seems to have drastically increased. What's up with this? Outside of the their own home territory, NPC interdictions literally serve no purpose. You get nothing for killing them; they are never wanted (except the 400cr for assaulting you) and you do not receive merits. NPCs will never be a serious threat to anyone remotely competent; just low wake as soon as they interdict. All they do is waste our time, turning a five-minute trip to the station into a fifteen minute ordeal and interfere with PvP. NPC powerplay interdictions should be completely eliminated outside of the NPC's home territory.

Worse yet, when they open fire on me, they do not immediately become WANTED in the local jurisdiction. That seems rather unfair, since if I interdict an NPC PowerPlay ship (e.g. when undermining), I pick up a fine for the interdiction and a bounty for opening fire and for the kill.

WTH? Either they get a bounty for opening fire on me (and I get to thin their ranks), or I don't get a bounty for opening fire on them (and undermining become far less annoying). But the current inconsistency is just plain bad design.

Actually, rumor has it that since 1.4 low waking doesn't help against some Elite ranked npc's.

The main point is that they are a waste of time. NPCs in general are not interesting or rewarding. They should stick to the high res and nav beacon and otherwise mind their own business. I'm joking a bit of course, but seriously, powerplay NPCs should stick to their own territory.
