Powerplay is it too late to participate?

Hi all, i joined a faction a number of weeks ago. However I havent yet taken part in any of the powerplay required actions. Is too late to join in now or would i benefit from powerplay if i started now?

thanks in advance

Powerplay resets merit every Thursday (tomorrow). Overall, its never too late to join.
Joining today or next month will make no difference.

Thanks. I was wondering if its possible to gain merits for combat? If so where would be the best are. Im with Aisling

The best thing would be to join Archon Delaine. It is the Kumo Crew vs the world and we are having a blast :D

Are you gaining merit from combat?

I get all my merit from combat...just fly to an opposing powers control system and shoot down any other powers ships...you will gain 15 merits per ship up to Rating 4 or 30 merits per ship if you are rating 5 :D WARNING - do not kill powers aligned with your own. I work for Felicia Winters and accidentally killed one of Zachary Hudson's ships whilst trying to get its cargo...instant loss of 40 merits

EDIT: If you have an aversion to being wanted, hostile and the owner of massive bounties on your head, consider another way of obtaining merit. ;)

It's not too late because nothing has really changed.

Do all factions oppose each other?

All factions oppose each other, however, that doesn't necessarily mean they are hostile towards one another. As I said earlier I got a 40 merit fine for killing another Federal powers ship. Take a look at each power, see what their ethos is and how they like to do business. For instance. Zachary Hudson is all about combat whereas Felicia Winters is more about using money to achieve her goals. Choose one that fits how you would like to play. As to where to start, look at an opposing factions control systems and decide which one you want to try undermine then go and attack supply ships, security ships and any other faction ships in that system. Once your done head back to any control system under your own factions control to claim your merits.

One last thing...your weekly earnings are calculated at 8am GMT every Thursday morning. Your rating will be determined by the total of what you earned during this week and any merit you had carried over from previous weeks...the higher your rating the more you will get out of Power play. Carried over merit is subject to decay which means you can't just rest on your laurels if you want to advance.

Take a look at my explanation here in the Guides and Tutorials section.
