Powerplay - Merits and rewards tied to actions

Ahoy lads,
it is pretty clear that the progression in PP is rather slow rating-wise,
that is o.k.

But what is about the rewards you get for participating?
I'd like to gather some thoughts here on the current state.

Let's start:

Merits:
Every action does yield 1 Merit, be it one ton of cargo or a destroyed ship while expansion (at least with Pranav Antal).
Now you get a fixed amount of credits per Merit.

When i participate in PP i usually further the goals in good old combat fashion,
killing 12 ships yielded 1,2k credits.
So that is 100 Credits per merit,
my expenses in that 30 minutes of combat (against 'condas and pythons, who didn't yield more merits to be killed than eagles >.<)
were around 10k credits.

Does anyone besides me think, those rewards could use a little buff?
What about merits per kill ratio? Is it logical to get 1 merit for killing an Eagle over an Anaconda?

I totally agree. You either help factions or you make money. If you don't have time for both (eg, someone who works during the day like me), you can only do one or the other.

If you want to reach rating 5 with a power and keep it that way, you'll do only that even if you have a chunk of time.

The rewards of helping a power should be increased. Maybe don't make them as good as the normal missions so people still do them (you do get other perks with powers after all).

killing for merits at military zone is waste of time

actually i need 1500 merits to reach rating 4
so i bought it, ok 15 mio credits investment
next week i will obtain 5 mio credits as salary, so only 10 mio

15 mio credits is about 4 hours trading with anaconda (400-448 cargo space)
15 mio credits = 1500 merits = 4 hours trading + 1 hour to delivery military marked arms, or support ... whatever you want

it's impossible to make 1500 merits from killing at military zone at the same time

i thinking about invest 100 mio to make 10000 merits, take rate 5 with 50 mio weekly salary

or you can take money from killing at RES, with high RES there is 1-2 mio/hour, so max 15 hours
and your elite rating is coming :)

My big issue with it is that some job return merits so much easier, and often they are the jobs which are not important. Head to an opposing faction location and kill randoms = 15 merits per kill, go to a location you are trying to capture = 1 merit per kill. the same goes for expansion and fortification. I just think it needs scaling to encourage players to focus on the most important worthwhile tasks.
