Powerplay: more module unlocks...MOAR! (New Powerplay ranks with tech broker unlocks)

Powerplay is essentially everything now, so why not suck in more of the less used areas of the game? By this I mean tech brokers and the modules they have.

While the care packages are fine, they get to the point where they are useless. Why not replace some with tech broker modules / modules from CGs? So you could have super ranks of 101 - 200 where each new rank unlocks a new module and acts as a new way to get them.

Nah not these, permits should still only be obtained by rep grinding

O7
I mean, I'd argue Module Unlocks should be by rep grinding too.

But yeah, in this world where the shark's been well and truly jumped... merits are just the reputation widget of Powerplay, just like those relationship levels with the Engineers are just the reputation widget for them. This puts a harder spotlight on how fundamentally underbaked the reputation system is, and what it's really meant to exist for.

And let's not go near the Superpowers...

Yes please. I've been salty about missing out on those phasing multicannons for a while now. Lemme get four of those, a Kumo double with cheese and a pre-engineered Class 1 fuel scoop that scoops at the same rate as a class 3.

Even a PP exclusive ship would be nice (the same for all powers).

And why stop there? You could put any goodies in. What about:

permits
discounts for colonisation / fleet carriers
extra rares allocations
Guardian ship unlocks

or go super crazy with rank challenges by doing flavoured missions

The sky is the limit.
You want Permits for Harma, Lembava etc?

Sure, I like unlocking stuff. Assuming Fdev also add a "rebel" group, that just work against the other Powers without holding any own space, to the power play.
I'm not sure how many takers that would get, given all the disadvantages.
- without territory, you'd be hit with a Very High Beyond Frontline Penalty every time
- if it was literal about not holding any space, you'd also not be able to use any Undermining method which required either returning to a friendly system or bringing things in from one [1]; even if you got a single "rebel HQ" system somewhere but no ability to expand you'd be looking at much longer round trips.
- if it was really literal you also wouldn't be able to buy the unlocked modules since you wouldn't have any Stronghold Carriers.
- for the purpose of obtaining rank bonuses, Undermining is generally quite a bit slower and more difficult than Reinforcing even before your merit rate gets halved by BFP and SSP.

The only advantage over just picking a suitable nearby power and using that as a flag of convenience is that you wouldn't need to switch powers for your next target, but that would be traded off against getting merits at about a third of the normal rate.

I wouldn't object to Frontier adding the option for dedicated RPers, but for the "quite a bit smaller than Torval" likely uptake there are probably higher priorities for them even just in Powerplay.

[1] So you'd be limited to:
- Malware uploads
- Crimes
- Mining
- Market Flood
- Support Missions
- Data Links
- Power Kills
- Holoscreen Hacks
which takes out a lot of the more effective undermining options
