Newcomer / Intro Powerplay on fed/empire rank and combat rank?

So, question is, will you gain fed rank/reputation and combat rank towards elite when doing combat in powerplay? Want a change of scenery and not just randomly kill 1 here and there with assasination missions..

You only gain combat rank. If you fight bad guys in a federation system, you gain reputation when you sell the bounties or bonds, but that doesn't count for anything useful.
