PowerPlay RUINED My Game

That actually sounds awesome, like the galaxy is evolving a little and forcing you to reconsider how you can best make a profit, actually presenting you with a challenge, instead of allowing you to endlessly grind the same route. The Galaxy changes, you should learn to change with it! It's like real life, you want nothing to do with the Government for the most part, but sometimes they just bust on up in yo crib and be like "gimme all yo stuff" and your like I never asked for this.

Actually, the most recent dev post talks about a possible future mechanic that would allow you to become a "freedom fighter" in a system you pledge to and help them fight off the controlling power. So you could then fight off that <potato head> Parnav Antal and take back your systems.

Yeah but the trick there, is you have to pledge to that system, in order to play the game the way you want...

Best to stop playing for a couple of weeks, till conditions change? afraid so...

You don't have to pledge to anyone... Keep neutral. Or don't keep neutral, and go anyway. I do it all the time. Many others probably do it too.

That's a good thing in some ways. Players actually changing the galaxy. I do feel for you. I smuggle. But not on my turf.

Clandestine or something like it

I'm with Ben on this - I feel for you also but at the same time, it is a good thing. The changing dynamic is 'making the galaxy alive'.

People demand dynamic economies and background sim, saying static ones are stupid and simple and it ruins the game
Player has good they trade declared illegal by Power in local area, being forced to relocate, and it ruins the game.

So people want a fully fleshed out background sim and dynamic economy with supply and demand and changes to the legality of items and sabotage of Progenitor cells (Eranin heheh ) but they don't actual want their a to b to a trade to change at all giving the same profit each time and never having to move or change good.

Yup Internet

Funny thing is you can do the same with the background sim, for example, you can have tobacco outlawed suddenly if a system, through no fault of your own, flips to a Corporate minor faction control.

Narcotics even harder to hold on to legal suppliers for.

Cant blame power play for that, nope, the RES farmers ruining the faction influence of the unfetted Factions they murder enmass, causing the systems to change control are to blame.

But I dont see how it Ruins the game.

Just look at your own overreaction, man. Look how much fuss you've made because you need to travel a bit for your performance enhancers. The stuff isn't good for you, it's addictive and it's rotting your brain. The Simguru is trying to help you quit a bad habit - work with him!

Pranav Antal... That <potato head> has taken over several systems I traded in, so now I can't buy Performance Enhancers and a whole schwack of other items I made a killing on. I'm forced to move all my ships 101 LYs away, and I don't even do PowerPlay!

Sux!

This is like the best ad in favour of PP I've heard so far.

Right on Commander! :)

There's a lovely Federation controlled system that's been taken over by one of the Imperial Powers and over 500,000 Federation citizens have just embraced Imperial Slavery to pay off their debts. It currently pays over 3,500 Credits a ton to ship to Facece or Achenar.

Sounds like student debt....

PowerPant didn't ruin my game, because I could see it was pants from the outset, and have never even clicked on it.

<smug>

<sorry>

:)

Hey Poindexter, you should have read my post. I said PP ruined "my" game, not "the" game. Jeeze, IQs have dropped sharply since I've been away.

Of all the things I wrote, name calling is the best you can come up with as a response.
So, I agree with your statement

Would you like the devs to cancel this action out so that you can have your trade route back?

Join Delaine - you can make a killing on all that stuff and more.

As other have said, it's actually kind of awesome. The galaxy is evolving, new governments are moving in and you have to either adapt or move on to bigger better systems. Keeps you on your toes, though if you like your feet solidly planted so to speak then maybe it's not good for you.

I understand why a dynamic galaxy is good because if it did not change, it would get boaring. That said, I for one feel that there are still significant pieces of the game that need more attention. The unloved ship Orca is a good example. No one plays it because we don't have the transportation missions nor the modules to support them. While on the surface, Power Play seems like a great plan, it along with other distractions are going to make promised content take much longer to arrive.
