Powerplay PowerPlay + Server issues + a life side of Elite Dangerous …

Hi Frontier,


I'm a bit disappointed about PowerPlay and Server issue.

I've not a lot of time to play. Yesterday, I play a bit until the server crashs.


You've choose to take one week in real time for PowerPlay.


How can I do for reach the rank 4 with a Server down during my free time. I do not speak about the rank 5. It's just impossible for me…


Why don't you consider a bit all players which have a work, a family and not all the day for playing ? I think at all players of the league L.O.S.P. which has 35-40 years on average.


If your server become down and the PowerPlay cycle still ends at Thursday. Do you think it's right ? Why don't you increase the time of cycles ?
I think 2 weeks allowing us to reach easier a profitable rank and keep Elite Dangerous fun.


You don't want an offline mode but honestly I play only solo.


Why don't you make an hybrid mode (allowing connection for retrieving last updates and after playing offline). Where is the problem ?

I think at the exploration system. When you sell your map. In offline mode, you buy at the standard price. With a tiny update, you can apply the price for the first Cmdr which discovers a system.

I am not sure I grasp the issue Rank 4 is not that hard to obtain you only need to undermine and kill 50 ships or less then 10 a day to hit rank 4 - that is not even including the carry over from last week.
The other question I have, here is where the please do not take this as snarky comes in, is if you are so engaged in Power Play why do you only play in Solo?

You could undermine with a friend in Group or Open and it would go even quicker. It is just a question and perhaps another option for you.

I do sympathise with the OP as server issues can cause the loss of valid time for a player.

However Stolas is right, level 4 isn't that hard to achieve, especially if you have carried over merits from a previous week when you didn't quite make it.

I am currently rank 5, and on a weekly basis have to 'grind' approx 740 Merits a day to keep the rank. I try to gain more a day, so I get a few evenings to be able to do 'other stuff' in the game. 1000 merits usually takes about an hour and a half to achieve, and I quite enjoy popping the ships to get them

Like Stolas I don't wish to appear 'snarky' but realistic.
