PowerPlay - The Movie. (Casting couch edition)

Okay.
I’ve been here a while and I can’t remember one of these threads.

Which actor plays each of the PowerPlay characters?

Responses must include a picture.

Edmund Mahon will be be played by Gabriel Byrne.

Pictures in the thread guys!
Otherwise you’re asking the readers to google or leave thread. That’s no fun. Make it easy for everyone, mmkay?

Okay Aisling Duval. I’ve seen some close visual matches out on the electric interwebs, but personally I don’t think you can go past my nomination.
She’s beautiful in that petite Aisling way, and could absolutely take a blue rinse. She sings in her own cool band, even fronting for seminal industrial band Throbbing Gristle on their 2012 tour. She’s culturally literate and interested in the politics of the exploited. She has huge brand recognition, and she’s brave.

Braver than you or I by far.

CMDRs - I give you my nomination for the role of Aisling Duval - the princess of the people:
Sasha Grey

Eva Green as Emperor Arissa Lavigne Duval?
Okay - I can see that.

I had Sigourney Weaver for Arissa
But she’s kind of an obvious choice, and a bit old school.

I like this little thread! Here are my picks.

Robert Patrick (Termiantor 2, Avatar) as Zachary Hudson
Hudson.jpg

There's absolutely no basis on what I'm about to say but I bet my guts that the artist who drew Zachary's face used a portrait of Patrick as "inspiration". He's such a perfect pick it's scary. He also has that tough G Man attitude and a really suiting voice. I can't think of a better choice.

Hannah Kasulka (The Exorcist 2016) as Aisling Duval
the princess.jpg

According to Princess Duval's bio, she's currently 30 but this is Hollywood, dammit! so we're gonna put a 22 years old for the part. Now, truth to be told, casting for Aisling isn't an easy task. If we're going for looks alone this girl is perfect; her eyes, mouth and nose are the same but putting a nobody in such a central role is a risky move.

Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men, PotC: Dead Men Tell no Tales) as Edmund Mahon
edmun.jpg

This pick was also a hard one. There are not many middle-aged actors who look like our dashing 118 years old prime minister but I think Javier is a great choice. Also, I always imagined Edmund with a heavy accent so it fits perfectly in my head canon.

Angela Basset (Black Panther, Mission: Impossible - Fallout) as Felicia Winters
felicia.jpg

At first I was going to go with Halle Berry but after a few swings of the knife, she just doesn't look the part anymore (still a babe tho). I think Angela here might be a much better choice. She's also a great actress with fantastic presence.

Luvia Petersen (Continuum, Falling Skies) as Arissa Lavigny-Duval
emperor.jpg

Luvia Petersen is a TV actress who has a huge career with no big breakthroughs. Fortunately, she looks JUST like Emperatress Arissa, same age range too. Gotta admit, this one took me a while and the actress kinda comes out of the left field. Arissa has a very distinct face.

Karl Urban (Star Trek 2009, Dredd, The Boys) as Yuri Grom
yuri.jpg

Now, this one might be a tad weird but hear me out. The dude has range. He can pull out a pretty decent Dr. McCoy and his "Butcher" was genuinely scary at times. Let him grow a beard, add some makeup and make him force a Russian accent. I'm sure he would be perfect.

Sonu Sood (A LOT of Indian movies) as Pranav Antal
pranav.jpg

I think Sonu it's a great pick for this part. I'm kind of a fan of Bollywood and he has a cold, deep voice that would make a great Pranav. Too bad his English is atrocious.

Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween, True Lies) as Zemina Torval
semina.jpg

At first I thought of Judi Dench for the part but she's way too old for it. Then, I checked Jamie's current look and it couldn't be more perfect. She's also a great actress.

Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Game of Thrones) as Archon Delaine
1577658895711.png

I KNOW, I KNOW this is a total stretch but hear me out: we need someone to drive in the thirsty masses! We only have to make him appear shirtless for a few seconds and we have our opening week in the bag! Aslo, look at him with dreads! In my defense, albino actors are not precisely easy to come by.

And I'm gonna stop here because this took more time than anticipated. Any suggestions?

Close the thread, you nailed it. :D
Angela Basset, that's a great one.

Okay here are the pictures I'd promise
Eva Green- Arissa Lavigne Duval (She can sound Aristocratic enough)
1577685031184.jpeg

Judy Dench- Zermina Torval
1577685075502.jpeg

Halle Berry- Felicia Winters
1577685152958.jpeg

Either Kenneth Branagh or Sean Bean- Archon Delaine
images
images

Benedict Cumberbatch- Either Pranav Antal or Denton Pratreus (I'm leaning towards the latter, the accent is perfect)
1577685487412.jpeg

Sam Worthington- Zachery Hudson
1577685660533.jpeg

and finally Ariana Grande- Aisling Duval
images

(Yeah, I know she's more of a singer than an actress, but one can draws parallels from both their looks, backgrounds, lifestyles, etc.; makes one wonder.....😏)

Now comment/critisize to your heart's content.

Oh, I like your candidates, especially for Zachary, Hudson Felicia Winters and Archon Deliaine.

I approve of Jamie Lee Curtis. She'd have good experience at playing the role as well since she used to attend the UK's House of Lords until the Labour Government kicked her husband (& so her) out.
