Powerplay Update 1.3.03 is it working for you

I really don't understand what going on at the moment, 1.3.02 worked like a charm, very smooth no judder and now 1.3.03 back to awful judder and motion blur, black everywhere - just terrible.

I've played once since 1.3. Visit the VR forums to see if things have improved from time to time. Apparently not.

I only played for a few minutes earlier but yeah I noticed black smears everywhere. I hardly ever notice them usually and I'm not running with any colour adjustments from the standard apart from changing the HUD to green.

It works, but there's micro freezes of just a few frames every few seconds that make it really unplayable
this did not happen previously
using 0.6 runtime, as i need it for development

I'm only playing SOLO whilst Diso Corn is at 50t. Super smooth with fixed 60fps VSync but can't use Supersampling or DSR to give as good fps and they even start to judder.
However, in RES zones there is constant pauses and it is not so playable fun.

Weird people in the judder thread are saying it better. I just played for a couple of hours and mine is fine too. Sorry cant help

...but it did fix the login issues and regular disconnects due to adjudication and transaction errors.

---> oops. wrong section. it's still true though.

followed a reddit tip (brave, i know) and put oculus quality down to 50% and supersampling to x1.5
now it doesn't have the constant freezes anymore and looks a bit better too
strange

I play it like this and it works as it was before. Not perfect - there still is supercruise judder depending on where you are in a system. I don't expect any big changes until 0.6.0 support.that being said 1.3 brought smoothness insode all stations wich is great.

I went back to ED a few hours later and the problem was gone. I did do a restart in between and before launching ED this time, I first did the Oculus desk demo scene as I find that can iron out some problems in a subsequently launched game. The only black smear I notice now are the two 'prongs' above my radar. I tried some of the colour adjustments people recommend in nVidia settings before to get rid of black smear but then everything was just tinged in a dotty green.

Thanks for the update guys, I have managed to cure the problem through a strange method. I completely uninstalled the rift, did a full system scan using SFC, then re-installed the rift. Hey presto and its all working and clear again. I'm wondering if maybe the way to go is to uninstall and then re-install the rift after every patch.

I upgraded from a GTX 770 recently to a 980 before the 1.3 patch. Got everything fine before but on low settings, but the hardware upgrade made it worse again for me (judder when too many ships where in sight, lasers caused judder,...). But the last patch worked wonders for me. Just slight fps dips here and there but constant 75fps even in stations, warzones and the "good rings". Still slight judder when entering sc or come close to a new star. But overall it seems a lot smoother now. Running runtime 0.5 and Nv drivers 350 i think, the GTA one. Thanks FD, please keep it that way. Preparing for a long night atm. :)

Ok this is weird. It's not recognizing I have an oculus anymore. It's working fine on ARK, it does the whole demo thing, but E: D isn't giving me the option to use the rift at all in the menus.

Is there a way to select oculus in the config files?

I use SDK 0.5.x and 1.3.2 was nearly perfect and smooth, better than 1.2 and below. Yesterday I tried 1.3.3 without changing anything on my configuration and it was lot of judders, anywhere, even where I didn't have any problem previously (1.2 and below). Something seems broken IMO...

ive mentioned in other thread the issues im having. Only in supercruise am i having problems. In SC my fps takes a dive to 50 which of course means lots of judder in the dk2. Its a weird one because dont understand it. My gpu temp and usage goes down in SC as well.

Thats worse than RES zones for me. At a nav beacon with about 8 gov ships plus plenty of pirates my fps is at least 75 no problem.

v 1.3.3 sdk 05.0.1

On the 0.5.0.1 driver, the Oculus Config Utility will not detect your oculus in extended unless you've set your desktop to extended, and set the rift to be the secondary display. (This may require some fancy mouse work and one-eyed staring into your Oculus to get set up) After that it should detect in both the Oculus Config Utility and in Elite Dangerous.

ED used to run okay on my DK2, the only time I experienced jutter was inside stations. Now with 1.3.03, it's super smooth inside the station, but almost everything else is juttery as hell, even the main menu and loading screens. As soon as I leave the immediate surroundings of a station, the jutter starts and it becomes almost unplayable in SC...
Since the update, the mouse cursor is visible inside the cockpit and on the galaxy map, very annoying. Also, the headache-inducing flickering fonts in the galaxy map are still there :-(

1.3.03 is working for me, but I had to (not just did, had to) disable DSR and enable in-game supersampling. I'm fine with this, though, since the quality is comparable. Shadows no longer seem like a source of judder for me.

I have noticed some strange things I didn't notice before though - like when I was outfitting my Asp for mining the image reflected in the windows was of the space skybox outside the station, not of the station's interior. Might just be a low-quality reflections thing though and not an effect of the update. I've also noticed some changes in headtracking behavior, mostly for the better although the Rift seems to lose camera tracking slightly more often (then quickly fix itself, leading to weird zoom in/out effects). This happens more often when looking at the side panels, and it happens less often when the camera is above head-level looking slightly down.

My option for Rift on the second screen has also disappeared. It was there and fine before the last update. Fift continues to work with everything else.
