PP 2.0 Where to get rid of this darn data...

So, I downloaded a bunch of Powerplay data from a settlement (sorry about all of those murders...) and now, no matter where I go, it says that I am out of range and the Power Contact won't accept it. How do I get rid of this junk??

(Yes, I looked for other posts, and, No, I didn't find anything relevant, before anyone politely asks)

The system you got the data from must be in Strategic Range of a system that is Exploited, Fortified, or a Stronghold of your power. When you select a system in the galaxy map (probably only when you're looking in PP mode) there should be an icon down at the bottom of the little window that pops up (there will actually be three icons down there; it's the leftmost icon of the three as I recall) that will show you the strategic range of that system.

Took me a little while to notice this little icon too - "Toggle Strategic View" - it's very handy! o7

oh snap... wait ive been picking those up. If I am not pledged to a power. How would I get rid of them ?

You can also disembark your ship on a planets surface, transfer them to your backpack, then just chuck them on the ground.

Thanks, I figured this out and then went out of town for 2 weeks... Couldn't remember that for the life of me!

AFAIK, most of that data only works for undermining (ie must be collected from an opposing power), some work for acquisition and only one or two varieties (Classified data, not sure what the other one was, if any) works for fortification. The latter must be turned in in a fortified or stronghold system 20 or 30 ly away respectively.

The game certainly needs better descriptions for PP items and explicitly state what they're used for.

Sorry, been away for a while. Thanks for the replys, but...

Whenever I press the strategic view icon, all I get is the dotted circle. I have NEVER gotten the somewhat 3D version. How do I get that??
