PP Combat merits too low.

Ok, so i am fairly new to PP having ignored it until now, however i decided to give it a try over the weekend to see if it was enjoyable.

Originally i pledged to Aisling Duval (i guess i got suckered in by the pretty face), but immediately lost interest as all the PP mission types were glorified space postie ones delivering pamphlets etc.. yawn.
Looking at the other powers i decided to defect to Arissa Lavigny-Duval, since my main play style is bounty hunting, and saw that she would not only offer combat missions, but bonuses to bounty hunting vouchers.

So i go do some missions to kill corrupt cops and am surprised to see i only get 1 merit point per ship destroyed? doesn't matter if its a sidewinder that takes 5 seconds to kill, or an Anaconda that takes 5-10 mins.

If i can make so many merit points delivering stuff here and there in a small amount of time, especially if i pay to fast track the amount, what is the point of doing the combat missions where it could take me a few hours to earn the same points?

Am i missing something crucial here? should not the tougher rated ships give more merits or something?

They've basically repeated the conflict zone mistake. Oh well.

Still better than the UI nightmare that is filling up an Anaconda with trade deeds.

Another powerplay weirdism...I got 10 points per ship/pamphlet drop at rank 1, 15 at rank 2 and now 20 at rank 3. That said, my merits haven't correctly carried over from last week and the mistaken 'fast track' I did wasn't added to my tally either. I have reported these issues but I don't see any open tickets for them so I alos posted in the bugs section. Hopefully someone will sort PP out soon.

While military strikes are kinda useless, if you want a good number of credits go to a system controlled by a power outside your power's major faction area like say if your empire go to a Arcon Dilane system and then pick one you don't mind never being able to dock at again and just farm their agents by interdicting them in super cruise, you get about 15powerplay per agent.

Thanks, this sounds like the action i have been looking for :) with a reasonable reward.
Np, just remember keep an eye on their wing size and combat rating don't want to grab an elite dangerous dangerous wing if your unprepared for it.

Read the support ticket screen. If you send in a bug report there it does not show in the open ticket area

You are meant to become a space truck driver. Resistent is futile!
Hey I was a bounty hunter once too but then I played PP and my brain melted.

( After about 30 hours farming harmless Fed-Aid last week I am sitting in a Type 6 right now and fortify the 10'000 overfortified neighbour system (forgive me but I can't bear 30 min truck driving to a more far system) doing 1 flight ever hour and this for 40 hours! Hurray!!! PP is great! )

One poitn I don't get: I get interdicted that many time of foreign powers.. why oh way can't we get merits for shooting them down and securing the home system?
That at least would be combat with a point and help full to our transporters if we can reduce the frequence that way.

ah better than going into those instances and getting i point per kill.

Yeah, 1 merit a kill in a crime sweep (for example) is too low.

Lets not forget that its early days for PP and im pretty sure we will see the numbers get balanced as we move forward.
