Hmm I've sold 12 rare goods twice, both times it didn't count towards the assignment. I tried taking them over 120 light years from buy point too.
I might be misunderstanding where they have to be sold, can anyone clarify that? Thank you
There are three possible assignment types for rare good sales, so if you aren't sure a screenshot of the actual assignment will help.
Paraphrasing the English translation:
"... in <a specific system>": you sell the goods in that exact system
- usually easy enough, so long as it actually has a commodity market present.
"... in Reinforcement systems": you must sell the goods in a system your Power already controls
- on the map in Powerplay mode, these are the triangles, double-triangles and stars in your Power's colour. Pick any of them; you don't need a long range for the assignment, just so long as it's not the system you bought the goods in.
- when in the system, your status indicator on the right hand side of the HUD should read "Allied" in light blue (assuming English translation, no HUD colour mods)
"... in Acquisition systems": you must sell the goods in a neutral system your Power is attempting to gain control over
- this is the trickiest one: neutral systems are shown as single or double circles on the map, but not every neutral system is an Acquisition system for your Power. You need to find one which is also within 20 LY of your Fortified (double triangle) or within 30 LY of your Stronghold (star) systems. When you do, you'll see a progress bar for your Power on it - other neutral systems will
not have a progress bar for your Power, though they might have progress bars for other Powers.
So here's a screenshot with some examples from when I was testing something last week:
I'm a Kaine supporter, so my Power's colour is bright green. Any of the bright green systems on this screenshot - e.g HIP 72353 or Ru Shui or Zoquagsang - is a Reinforcement system for Kaine.
The white circles are unoccupied systems. In this screenshot I have enabled Strategic View (the globe icon in the bottom right of the right panel) on Ts'in, which draws lines out to potential Acquisition systems (and other systems too, but focus on the unoccupied circles for now). So Rangchan or Kharviri or Chanii are all in range of Ts'in and can be an Acquisition for Kaine.
On the other hand, Janjiwa (no line) is out of range of Ts'in. It might still be a potential Acquisition system if there's another Kaine system close enough elsewhere on the map, though ... or it might be out of range of all of them. To check that I could click on the Janjiwa system itself, and see if I get Strategic View lines
back to any current Kaine systems, and also see if I get a progress bar on the right-hand panel.
