Hopefully there's a time limit on the ability to freely edit posts without there being any trace of that edit taking place?

OK, I'm going to test something with my opening post.

EDIT: Yes you're right, I thought it would still say 'Edited' but without a reason - actually it says neither.

There are so many ways I could now make this nerf analogous to other stuff that has happened that I don't know where to start ... baby, bathwater ...

EDIT2: Actually this post wouldn't say it was edited if I hadn't just written 'EDIT' and 'EDIT2' in it, would it?

EDIT3: I've just given a reason for this edit and that's not showing either.

Oh yes it is still showen but if you write in there it just disappears xD

Mmm, not at all open to abuse :D I didn't like having to add a reason every time I edited something and I'm glad that's gone. Half the time I have to go back and change something as I post a lot from my phone. But having no record of an edit is a bit daft.

The problem is instead of it its seems like it's not auto merging your posts in case of rapid answer of two different posts. At least it not done to me.

Some forums have post merging disabled, while others are enforced.

Time before edited text blurb shows up is 1 minute (vbulletin default).

Well to me it was a little more than 1min, i think up to 2 min it can be good, and the forum became less messy. In the other hand you can have problems from editing and merging even like tis because the other is answer before you finish the editing. It's situation dependent.

Edit; But? because you need to think over and write down your answers 2 min is reasonable.
