Praise due to Frontier for the 'Engineers' update

Gotta say - I love Elite, loved the original. But the modern version just seemed to be lacking.. 'something'... up til now.! In my opinion - the Engineers is a massive step in the right direction by Frontier to improve their game. Missions (from my personal experience) are better designed, slick, working correctly.. and MUCH more varied and interesting (still some work to do here but gettin there). But overall - the whole introduction of Engineers and materials and updated mission system is starting to add some real 'depth' to the game and its startin to grab my interest again (having given up on it previously sometime around the release of Powerplay..!).

Lovin' the NPC difficulty and new Ai (i gotta say.. even tho I lost 7 pythons... i actually didnt mind the challenge before you fixed the engineer weapons/NPC bug), but still its MUCH better. Lovin' the challenge of findin' engineer materials and deciding which upgrades to work towards next! Lovin' planetary landings.. planets look awesome, and adds a whole another element of immersion and 'coolness' that you can actually approach and then land on these things!

Just want to say - Good job Frontier, .. and if y'all can keep improving the game in the current directions it is going.. i think it might make it up there along with some of the long term greats


Thought twice about adding negativity to this post.. but because I cant be ars*d to open another thread.. here are the things that, if anything.. i still find a bit annoyin with the game:
- I would like a 'micro-jump' in sytem. Kinda bored of having to wait 10-15 minutes staring at my ship in FDL while i travel to anythin beyond 2000 light years (ye - i know 2000+ isnt too bad.. but just try travellin 200k+ LY.. its a bit of a joke in all honesty). A micro-jump would be pretty cool.. i personally think this is a great suggestion :)
- The planetary vehicle handling needs some serious work... gettin well annoyed when I try to drive in a straight line and it constantly 'spins out' or hits a rock and end up facin the other way.. only to try turn it around and spin out another 3 times.. before it heads in the right direction again.. You get the point.. anyway.. It needs some serious work. Ye - at first it was nice, and fun, but now gatherin the materials is a bit of a grind (to say the least) the sh*tty handling of the SRV is now just becoming a grind.
- Increase cargo space on the SRV.. i mean.. 2 cargo... really? why..? My general rule with games is - why make somethin harder than it needs to be just for the sake of it.? Its not a challenge to keep going back to your ship to empty the 2 cargo space.. but its totally unnecessary.. just increase the damn space! haha! (same applies with the vehicle handlin).
- Oh yeah.. and add some material storage for the Engineer's specific materials stuff. The system is broken having to carry it around in your cargo hold currently.. only to use it in 2 weeks time when u finally sourced the rest of the sh*t you need.. thanks!
