Pre-Order As Gift?

Re the 'digital download' (I assume that's what you mean by non-boxed) it is linked to the 'account' you bought it with, so if you want to 'gift' it you MUST create a spoof email account purely for the purposes of creating an E : D account for buying the gift product, and handing that email account / pwd over as the actual 'gift'... With that online account though you *can* subsequently change the email address and password by going into the store account settings, so the recipient can twerk things back to an email account they actually want to use.
Re the 'full boxed edition' the situation is not 100% clear, although the store website *is* clear that there is no support for 'gifting' the product in any way at the current time. (a) this is not quite correct because of the technique above, and (b) that entry in the store FAQ pre-dates the arrival of the 'full boxed' edition but hasn't been updated.
But the official answer is NO, there is no way to buy this game as a gift at all.
