Pre-Sale Question: Jurassic World Evolution: Premium Edition

Hi! I am looking to buy Jurassic World Evolution: Premium Edition.

But, I am confused if I buy it now.

Am I eligible to receive the future DLC (Paid Content) for free or am I suppose to buy them?

For example: Return to Jurassic Park DLC is yet to launch. So I will have to buy it myself later on or it will be given free to the Premium Edition Owners?

Thanks

No, the premium edition of the game would have the DLC listed in the bundle you showcased which are:

• Jurassic World Evolution
• Deluxe dinosaur pack
• Secrets of Dr.Wu DLC
• Cretaceous dinosaur pack
• Carnivore dinosaur pack
• Herbivore dinosaur pack

So you are paying for all DLC except for the Claire's Sanctuary DLC and the upcoming Return to JP DLC. Buying this bundle would give you what is listed, but it won't provide you with future DLC, you have to buy them separately.

Hi, I appreciate your reply. Okay. So it is not a SEASON PASS (which I got confused and I thought it is)?

Anyways, What DLCs are worth buying according to you (I am sure not everyone is since some of them have bit poor rating as well on Steam).

Thanks.

No problem! :)

Yeah, JWE does not have a season pass or a similar method of purchase where future DLC are to be included.

I will descibe what I think but you could skip to the bottom for a TLDR summary.

------------------------

Regarding what you are getting with this pack, then this is a great price for what you are getting. The secrets of Dr.Wu dlc it comes with is a great dlc as it adds a deeper level of genetic modification that the game has, plus it adds 3 hybrids and a camouflage gene for the indominus rex if you liked the hybrids the game introduces, as well as 2 new dinosaurs in olorotitan and troodon, the latter is a unique carnivore because of her venomous bite. I recommend it as it's campaign would merge with the main campaign, so you would get a more expanded experience, as well as 2 maps, but of moderate and small sizes.

The Claire's sanctuary DLC is interesting, I had fun with it but I think it will be a more enjoyable experience when you are done with the main campaign (which does take some time to complete). From this DLC, you would get a separate campaign mode from the main campaign where you rescue dinosaurs and use a limited selection of species (from the ones you saved and a few that are researchable in the later island). It's major addition is the greenhouse which makes for some unique management for the herbivores in the game by assigning them different diets that could benefit or hurt herbivores depending on their families. And 2 of the largest maps have been introduced in this expansion pack.

The dinosaur packs simply adds dinosaurs into the game. Each one brings in a unique selection and help add variety to the roster of dinosaurs in the game. I have all of them as introducing new dinosaurs makes park layout more varied, and it helps add choice in replays in challenge mode. You are not missing much if you do not get them, but if you are a huge dinosaur nut and wish to continue playing this game, then I recommend getting some of the packs.

The deluxe edition has the most with 5 dinosaurs , but you would notice the same rigs and animation used in the other dinosaurs. I got this when the deluxe edition came out, so it is worth it in a discounted price.

These are:
• Styracosaurus
• Majungasaurus
• Archaeornithomimus
• Crichtonsaurus
• Suchomimus

The cretaceous pack is the first major dinosaur pack sold after the game's launch. It has:

• Dreadnoughtus: A large sauropod
• Carcharodontosaurus: A large carnivore from africa
• Iguanodon: The largest iguanodontid in the game with a unique animation and combat mechanics, the highlight of this pack.

The cretaceous pack is fun, and the iguanodon is the selling point of this pack. All future dinosaur packs introduced have more unique animations and rigs similar to the quality of the iguanodon. I would recommend this if you find any of these dinosaurs appealing to you.

The carnivore pack adds 3 new carnivores into the game and is one I recommend greatly. The base game has a notable lack of carnivores when released. This is alleviated with the later patch that introduced 4 carnivores, but these 3 new ones are fun to house as they cover.

• Proceratosaurus: a colorful small carnivore, could be unlocked in the early game and is difficult to capture with her thin body and double darts.
• Herrerasaurus: the first triassic dinosaur in the game, currently the only one too. Plus it is the largest of the small carnivores, also needs double darts to take down.
• Acrocanthosaurus: One of the most requested carnivores for her muscular spine.

The last pack is the herbivore pack. This pack introduces 3 of the smallest dinosaurs in the game. A niche the game is lacking and one of the packs I highly recommend for variety and quality of these dinosaurs.

• Homalocephale is the smallest pachycephalosaurus in the game, and the smallest herbivore in the game altogether.
• Dryosaurus is a fan requested dinosaur since JPOG, and is a nice change from the ornithomimids. Likewise, it is the smallest jurassic herbivore in the game.
• Nigersaurus, with her vacuum shaped mouth, this is the first and only low grazing sauropod in the game. She is also the smallest sauropod in the game and one that is vulnerable to all large carnivores.

------------------

Ultimately, I think getting this pack is worth it for the cost of what it has. The base game came out I believe at a cost of $60 dollars (before it was cut to $50), and this pack introduces a huge chunk of DLC introduced in the year and a bit after launch for half of its initial price.

Claire's sanctuary I think depends on your buying preference. If you do not have a budget and could pay the extra 10 dollars, then I could recommend it. However, the game is only truly appreciated once the main campaign is complete, which will take some time. So you could hold off on this one if you wish to buy it later when a discount could come again. As you could save up for the RTJP game which is said to be $20 dollars if I am not mistaken.

Premium edition: $28.77

Premium edition + Claire's sanctuary: $40.01 (which has all current DLC)

Premium edition + Return to Jurassic Park: $48.77

Premium edition + Claire's sanctuary + Return to Jurassic Park: $60.01

I hope this helps in deciding what you are looking for. I myself am a person who buys everything to enjoy the full experience (Like for the sims series, Roller coaster tyccoon series, and zoo tycoon series). So this is a great time to get a full package for a fraction of the price which has 66 dinosaurs (RTJP makes it 68), 10 maps (RTJP makes it 12), and new buildings that expand gameplay. I do also want to point that the game is planned to get support for the next year and a half (until JW3). So more DLC and content will be introduced.

And a note: The game comes with sandbox mode and challenge mode besides the campaign modes. Content from DLC would be locked so that players could work to get them in the game's campaign mode. So this is a game that is best to play all campaign modes first and attempt to 5 star the islands to get the most of your time, and have all content be available for challenge mode and sandbox mode.

Okay. Thanks for the answers. I read all of the messages but since I don't know much about the game yet. I don't have any words to reply or say anything until I actually play. @Pixelated Sparkster. I hope you don't mind.

I have one more question: Does this game have Sandbox Mode? As I was checking Reddit, I read someone posted yesterday that this game doesn't have Sandbox Mode.

Yes it has, for every map. You must have misread.

If anyone could counter his whole comment?

Save your money. Jurassic world looks fun but, while its not a sandbox its as boring as you think it is. Very small amount of customization available, a lot of frustration based park features too (like roads that only bend no right angles).

You can't counter an opinion, since sadly we're all entitled to one, no matter how misinformed or dumb. However, that last bit is incorrect - roads can easily bend curve or straight, just press spacebar.
At the end of the day, if you're a Jurassic Park franchise fun, and like park builders, get it. If you're expecting a Dino Crisis game, no.

I could recommend watching gameplay videos then. That way you could see what the game has in store. But the older the video, the less content you will see. I recommend Bestinslot and Gaming Beaver as they played and experimented with the game the most from what I have seen, plus they recently uploaded videos of the RTJP DLC as a sneak peak.

The game has been very empty on launch with limited sandbox option, but over time there has been a lot of inclusions.

In terms of customization this is what the game has to offer. If you decide to get all expansions.

• 6 maps from base game, 12 maps with all 3 expansions (Dr.Wu, Claire, and RTJP) installed.
• 66 dinosaurs to play with, with it being 68 in the next DLC, RTJP.
• Each dinosaur has 6 colored skins to choose from, with the velociraptors having newly added Blue, Charlie, Echo, and Delta.
• Every dinosaur is genetically customizable, so you could make some loners, must be in groups, more defensive, offensive, live longer, and tolerable to breaking out or not.
• There are 5 terrain tools in the game. Grass, dirt, rock, sand, and shale. However they are limited based on the island and game mode. Sandbox mode has all terrain in all islands except for shale, and pena has all terrain except for sand. This may or may not change in a future update.
• There are 5 trees, and 6 rocks besides the forest tool. And there are 4 different bush tools.
• RTJP introduces legay skins, JP buildings, signage, JP gates, lights, and other decorations.

The game will get more over time. If you are interested to know more about it, you could use the JWE wiki. It should list what is in the game and any new information will be posted there,
