Now lagoons are almost perfect with the tomorrow dlc, and we may be getting another dlc late this year. So, what we need now in game? We have pretty decent land creatures and features, almost perfect lagoon species, now what? Aviaries. Another look at the flying species of the game. My idea is to have something almost identical to the Marine species pack but with flying species.
So, how we start?
As first, for the free update, a very requested thing would be the pterosaurs ability to walk. At least quetzalcoatlus. Very requested feature. And another very obvious, is the pterosaurs social animations, at least while they fly, and maybye when they walk. As a free update, bringing the JP3 aviary bridges would be very cool, personally. Another feature would be being able to have pre-made waterfalls, that can attach to lagoons too. And lastly, the ability to have free-roaming fish on rivers and lakes. Now counting with 2 more fishes: Salmons and catfishes. Each one would have it's preferent species, for example: A spinosaurus would enjoy the salmons while the Pteranodon prefers catfishes. Each piscivore species (Not Lagoon species) would sneak to catch the fish. The spinosaurids would stay quiet on the shores and wait for a fish to aproximate it. And the pterosaurs, some would walk while waiting to them, others would walk while looking for them, and other ones would fly from above and catching them like falcons For me is a perfect update.
And now, the dlc. As the Marine species pack, it would bring something new to the species. A very interesting thing would be new rock formations for flying species being able to perch and rest, also new trunks and branches to them being able to rest. And a new thing, small tree houses for the Jeholopterus and a creature we'll see now.
For the species, I selected 4, not every species is a pterosaur, just some of them.
First, we have the Hatzegopteryx, a classic one, Very requested. Would bring very cool colours to the aviaries, as well another giant pterosaur. Now the quetz would have another azdharchid fella
.
Next, we have the pterodaustro. A very odd one. Not very requested, but not unique enough. It would be cool to have a similar design to the spoonbills. To feed, it would walk on shores while moving it's beak like a pelican.
Now, i cannot decide between these 2: Nyctosaurus and Darwinopterus. Both are really different. One is a majestic big-crested pterosaur, and the other one is a small curious pterosaur. But if i needed to decide, the Darwinopterus would be my choice, because it would be able to eat from the insectivore feeder and hang from the free update tree house.
And lastly, the most classic one: The Archaeopteryx. This small boi was very important to understand the transition between dinosaurs and birds. It's too iconic to leave it out. It would feed from the insectivore feeder, and being able to use the tree house.
And that's all for now. I think aviaries should recieve more love, and this seems as a cool thing to have in mind
Hope you liked the idea!
