Rudi Rennkamel was one of the YouTubers featuring the brand new animal reveals:
In contrast to any other stream I've watched so far, he stopped to voice-over the video and just played along.
This was the first time, I could listen to the original game sounds in detail - and I am truely impressed! The gharial's movement sounds in the water, the sound muffeling when the camera dived under the water's surface, the rain, the animal's snorts/screams/tones ... very well done!
One thing irritated me, though: The all to ubiquitous human squeaks of excitement and awe.
Don't get me wrong, the sound itself is well done and I do understand the purpouse: an audible feed-back for our visitors' enjoyment.
For my personal taste though, it was a little bit (well, actually way too) dominant and frequent.
So frequent that it got on my nerves even by watching the stream.
As I've wrote multiple times already, I don't own Planet Coaster. However, I guess that there is lots of joyfull creaming going on by all those people riding the coasters.
This creates the atmosphere of an amusement park very well and also serves as feed-back.
I think that the underlying idea of those audible feed-backs was transfered to Planet Zoo almost 1:1.
The thing is: all this screaming is real in amusement parks.
In zoos, however - while occasional expressions of awe can certainly be heard (and are a nice addition to Planet Zoo) - the constant sighing is too frequent, too loud. Simply too much!
This is my personal impression, of course and you are more than welcome to disagree.
What is your feeling on this topic?
