Premium Alpha backer - Founders system?

Hi all.
I first backed elite dangerous for £35 in the kick starter.

After it was successfully funded, some time later I upped my pledge to £100 (through the store) so I could get in to the premium alpha.

I was watching a Scott Manley video the other day and saw he started in the founders system. I though "oh sweet, I should be able to, too"

I can't..... Should I be able to? Whenever I start I have to be a new commander in a random federation system with 100 credits. Even my £35 pledge had more "perks" than that (obviously apart from getting in the alpha).

Any help or guidance appreciated.

Unfortunately, no.

Starting in the Founder's system was at the £85 level in the Kickstarter. You didn't up your pledge, you paid extra after the Kickstarter was finished to get into the premium alpha. That figure doesn't alter your Kickstarter reward.

EDIT:

You should, however, have the ability to do the Explorer start, which was at the £65 Kickstarter level. Because you were at £85, you get all previous Kickstarter rewards. You should also have the Pirate and Federal trader start as well.

When you log into Kickstarter, it should tell you what level you pledged at. If it shows the £85 level, then you should get everything from the £85 level back. And if you aren't, then I would absolutely open a ticket with Frontier explaining that to them.

Started in the world of the founder is a reward in the kickstarter and in the old store (I believe). If you have upgraded in the new store, this option does not exist

That is odd. At £35 you should at least have the Imperial bounty hunter option and I think you can fly to the founders system, but just not start there.
I pledged the same amount for the kickstarter and also upped the amount to get beta access + expansion pass when I saw the alpha, I have 3 start options. 2 are a sidewinder with 100 and 1000 credits respectively. The third option is the imperial bounty hunter start.

I agree it's a shame that we don't get some more of the rewards that original backers got by pledging the same amount as us, but on the other hand it wouldn't really be fair to them either by offering all the rewards to anyone who bought into beta after the kickstarter.

I 100% only get one starting option. I cleared my save three times this evening and clicked everywhere on screen to try and start differently. All I can see is "new commander"
