Engineers Prey tell... Pharmaceutical Isolators, where art thou?

So I've been attempting to gather some of these for the last two weeks.

Went to Outbreak system (when there were some), sought out high grade SS.. BGS says no.

Any ideas before I give up entirely?

I think you can kill all big 3 plus T9/T10 for various G5 mats, just not reliable.
Iirc when the installation at Slough Orbital was still a thing, I got several Pharma Isolators from that T9.

So, what I'm hearing is that PI's are really hard to obtain not only because they are G5 mats but also the system states that are required are also rare. It sounds like farming other G5 mats is the fastest way to get any. This is quite unfortunate as looking at the conversion rates between G5 mats it is still 6 to 1, so in this instance I'd suggest that PI's should be classed as a G6 :D;)...

I estimate I need 70 PI's...this could take a while

Update: had a look at the thread included in a earlier post on HGE USS spawning, I think I'll follow the advise there and just system jump around looking for HGE sources and farm those that spawn. Once I have a bunch of G5 mats trade for what I actually need

To break the tedium I may add in some missions and trading in the background...:D

The HGE spawn are now broken.
Hunting HGE's for 3 days now, dopped in at least 3 oubreak ones, not a single have Pi's, all of them have Proto Heat radiators (Oubreak faction HGE in a oubreak system)

OMG, how we can farm materials now?

I spent three bloody hours on saturday looking for HGEs with proto heat radiators in them and didn't see a single one in any independent system regardless of state or population. Went into imperial space and found like a hundred imperial shielding in the space of twenty minutes. Go figure.

I've never had a problem getting them before, but last night I spent 3 hours looking, went to a dozen outbreak systems, found almost that many HG's, got proto wutzits coming out the wazoo, but no PI's.

I have gotten them from destroying anacondas that interdict me in the past but usually I’m able to get them after hunting around in an outbreak system for a bit....while I haven’t searched for them since the update it would make sense that its easier now....are we finding that post update they are
Even harder to come by?

An update from last nights "hunting"

Jumped from Kongga to Shinrarta Dezhra on Economical jumps so that's approximately 25 short jumps. Scanned every system and "discovered" all signal sources. From all those jumps I only got 1 HGE.
I didn't concern myself with system states or any other influences as I was working on the assumption that the HGE spawning is broken.
So are the outcomes we are all experiencing the Background Simulation catching up after the last major update? Is this expected and things will settle down soon...if so when is "soon"?
Or is this an actual bug? If so are FD aware of this?
I have a concern that this is not a bug and that getting G5 materials has become extremely hard. Further using the exchange rates that the Mat traders have makes getting any mats and trading up just as time consuming. Eg trading other G5 mats for PI's is at a 6 to 1 rate, I didn't check the other exchange rates but they are probably the same.
If you have a fleet that you want G5 Dirty drives on it is going to take months, if not years to complete this task...Is this the intention? It also makes G5 mats more valuable than the Credit - so should there be a location that we can buy and sell these hugely expensive materials for in game credits?
One observation from my above exercise - unless your exploring or after degraded emissions there is no point in scanning Anarchy systems with no population:D
Over the coming nights I'll refine my hunting technique and see if I have any greater success - stay tuned.

Just use the mat trader, seriously.

My new alt account should have all the G4/5 and synth mats maxed out today, before I head out to catch up to DW2 tomorrow.
That's after unlocking almost all of the engineers and building up 4 ships too.

I mostly use passenger missions for BTC, EFC and MEF, and the Bug Killer for raws(also Orrere since it has tungsten etc) and data.

Yep get that using the Mats trader is there for when you can't find a material you want, however the exchange rates are a killer. If I'm trading surplus G1-3 level mats it still isn't a speedy process best you can do with a G3 to G5 is 36 to 1 for the same category. if you collect a full load of the G3 mats your only getting 9 G5 (based on a 300 unit cap which I think is the max - happy to be wrong) When you need 70 odd G5 mats that's over 2500 G3 mats - I dunno, maybe I'm doing it wrong, but that is still going to take me quite sometime....

I'm going to give both a crack over the coming days\weeks and I'll see what my mileage is like...

I NEVER trade upwards.

Serious question, whats the secret to your G5 mat collecting then...I've been playing since well before Engineers and all this materials gathering etc and I don't recall ever having maxed out any of my G5 storage limits... And I feel I've tried most things to ease my collection woes...PI's just happen to be my main focus atm...

Of course happy to be told that its a trade secret;)

That's all there is to it.

I have a hold full of passengers right now and they are, each party, giving me 3-5 EFC or BTC, since I ignored the MEF.
I'll stop by the Bug Killer on the way back to the bubble and top off data and raws.
There's a trader here where I'm at so it makes it even easier.
