Price fleet carriers

07 Commanders,

Firstly, this is not so much a complaint but a genuine interest.

I have been playing this game since 2016, although I did burn out on it and left it for a while, but I have been playing again for the last few months.

Currently, I am having a lot more fun again teaming up with friends, and somehow, in my opinion, it seems the game has found the spirit of the old days back again. Well done, Frontier, for reinvigorating a 10-year-old game.

As I already have a fully engineered Imperial fleet, lol, I was interested in a Fleet Carrier but was quickly shocked at the 5,000,000,000 credits to purchase it.

I am Trade Elite, and in all my time playing, I have earned a total of 2,500,000,000 in assets. Granted, I have wasted huge amounts on mucking about with ships.

I could easily pay for the weekly upkeep with my Cutter, but my god, how does one obtain the 5,000,000,000 in spendable cash?

I just don't understand how many hours you need to put into the game to obtain that.

I understand it is a very large ship and needs to be costly end-game content and all, but I have played for years and don't even own half of the worth, yet I see them in nearly every system.

How do you all do it?

Personally, I only have accrued around 270 Million.
This has been managed within around a month funnily enough.

I'd guess it's just a case of making the Right Trades, and going from there.
Some people do the Biology stuff, others (like me) do the System Scanning and Bulk Trading.
When I see the occasional Fleet Carrier that is trying to restock by offering higher than the going rate, I take it.
It was nice making some 10 Million per run for very little effort there, LOL.

It comes down to patience, and just playing for a long time.
As I haven't been actually playing for a long time (regardless of the fact my account has existed for as long as it has), I've not got a Fleet Carrier yet.
Yes, I spent so long just trying to find a HOTAS that would work, that I managed to miss two Thargoid Wars, LOL.

I where playing ED for a year, in that time i hit 1.2 bil mark. Have been playing and doing what where fun at moment, decided to get fleet carrier then. They where quite fresh thing then. Learned hard way what people have in mind saying that this game can be extremly grindy. My way to FC where Robigo runs hit 20bil mark, get FC, quit game shortly after for about 2 years i think. Get back few months ago (2 or 3), i have FC now. That where my way to get FC ;-)

1. Find high-tech, service system with high population
2. Establish ally relation with most of the factions
3. Find a missions to mine 700+ tons of bertrandite which gives 40+ millions as reward - they usually give 50 million as reward
4. Find best bertrandite sell station with price bellow 2000 and stock over 700

If you really want to focus on credit acquisition (I can't recommend it) a single, dedicated, weekend of booze cruise activity can fund the initial security deposit on your FC.
A more civilised approach would be exobiology where a single first footfall body can (unusually, but can) return close to 500MCr and 100MCr is not unusual.

Collect 30 Titan Drive Components and make a selling offer on Inara.cz via News board for 350.000.000Cr each one. You need a friend carrier to make the deal. Or i can give you the wanted 5.000.000.000Cr for 40 Titan Drive Components.

Are they not sellable by carriers currently? This was a problem a couple of months ago when I want to sell one. So unless the issue is fixed, you will have a problem.

As it was a new friend returning to the game, I simply dumped the TDC out into space and he collected. No charge.

Collecting other titan bits could be fairly quick, but not as fast as the CG.

If yu want to earn billions in very short time, register to the piolts trade network discord server. (https://discord.gg/UgSENPkx)

There are three unbeatable methods:

The third best way to earn billions (around 1 billion 1-2 days) are AFK-Masacre Mission, but they need a huge Invest upfront und require very much engeneering and letting the game run while afk ist not everyones playstyle. For a guide see PTN Discord.

The second best way to earn billions of credits (3 Billion 2-3 days) very fast ist Winged Mining Missions. There are no requrements, all you need is a good transport ship. For the details see the Guide on PTN Discord.

The best way (5 Billions in 1-2 days) and the most fun is the boozze cruise event. But that one is not awayaible all the time. The status can be found on the PTN discord too.

I made around 50 billions with that methods and bought me three carriers (on different accounts of course).

Made my billions in borann mining painite. Course that's gone now.
Mining was heavily nerfed a few years ago. Since then stacking massacres seems to me to be the most lucrative.
But!
If your not in a hurry, then I'd recommend deep core mining.
Monazite, rhodplumsite, muscravite, serendibite (not sure if l spelt it right), granditerite.
Deep core mining is a satisfying & somewhat difficult way to earn credits.
Once your hold is full, find the best buyer in inara. Jump there and sell. Rinse n repeat.
The ores go for 500k upwards each. Some as high as almost 800k.
With a 350t cargo it's 250 mill a run depending on what you mine of course.
Failing that.... laser mining at this triple platinum hotspot will be a quicker way, but dull.

Good luck

Some say laser mining is dull, and its certainly not as exciting as core mining, but there's just something chill and relaxing about burning off stuff from rocks while your collectors whizz around.

When I first started out, I needed months to make a few milions to buy and upgrade a new ship (and, like a lot of others, I lost my first Python almost immediately after I got it...).

Around christmas (IIRC, would have to look it up) I reset one of my CMDRs. I didn't explicitely work towards getting money - all I did was to get a Cobra Mk.V for ARX (and a Type-8 when it became available in-game). The current balance on this account stands a little bit over 1 Bn (and I even haven't cashed in the last CG).
The current CG is paying 440k per ton of Pt delivered - or 100 MCr. per load (for me, if I were participating, YMMV).

Took me a year to get my first 100 million. Times were different then.

NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
