I did a little bit of window shopping today in my Asp. The base price of a Type 7 transporter is over 17 million credits. I purchased mine (with which I've finally started making a small fortune, with the ultimate goal of buying an Anaconda) at the EZ Aquarii system, Magnus terminal, for 15 million credits or thereabouts.
Imagine my surprise, then, when today, on a tip from a friend, I went to the Bacon station in Gliese 868, and saw a Type 7 Transporter for sale for about 13 million credits! I noted that these lowered prices appeared to affect all ships for sale at the station in question. I can't be the only one seeing this.
I googled this, and found only one thread from 2014, in which it was stated that the ship you were flying, and its value, affected the prices you saw at stations when examining their ship markets. This cannot be true, as only one jump away, at Chretien station in LHS 1197, I have found the same type 7 at its regular price of over 17 million credits, flying the same Asp, in the same pristine, fully fueled condition.
Now, I'm not a miserly man. But the trek to riches is a long, tedious one, and if, when I upgrade my trading ship to the coveted Anaconda, I can shave a few million credits off its price in like manner, perhaps even tens of millions if the discount is percentage based, I assure you I would leap for joy at the opportunity.
Would a kindly soul please point me in the direction of a station where I may find a better deal on an Anaconda?
In the meantime, post all manner of systems and stations in which you have found ships, or upgrade components for said ships, at a discount.
