I desperately need more primates, especially small monkeys. There's such a huge gap between how many we have in game and how many you would realistically expect to see at pretty much any zoo. I would
gladly take a full primate pack.
First up, the two most important ones (that aren't as interchangeable) are a baboon and a gibbon.
Hamadryas baboon and
siamang are my preferences, but I'd be happy with olive and lar or whatever the fates may will. The important thing is that we end up with both a baboon and a gibbon in this game. Honestly the baboon is considerably more important than the gibbon in my eyes, but... they're both really important.
Next up, another African monkey: the
mantled guereza. There's a lot of things I'd love to include here - Diana monkey, De Brazza's monkey, wolf's guenon, vervet. All super fun and distinct, but I just can't take my mind off of our colobus for some reason. I guess I just love the "cape".
I can really only find room for a single Indian monkey as well, and I've got to go with the visually impressive
lion-tailed macaque. Sorry to the grey langur. Wish this hypothetical pack was double-wide.
That leaves 3 open slots, and they've all got to go to South America. There's no other way. So!
Squirrel monkey, non-negotiable. I like 'em too much. Love their yellow gloves. Not too fussed about the (sub)species.
Golden lion tamarin, super visually distinct, small, exciting, I think we need a tamarin and they're easily my fave. And lastly the
black-handed spider monkey. I kept flip flopping between it and either the black or red howler monkey, but ultimately I decided that in this fantasy scenario where I'm adding the siamang, they've given us proper brachiation, which would make the spider monkey all the more appealing. Also it has a slightly more stand-out coat.
And then, of course, since primates don't make for viable exhibit species, maybe we could also get a low effort
Sumatran orangutan as our final species. As a treat
...kinda thinking I should've double dipped in Africa instead of the lion-tailed macaque. oh well.
