PRIMER: Rise to Power Player Groups

As we're soon going to be helping elevate one player faction to the status of a Powerplay power, I thought it best just to draft up a rough guide to the various groups who are going to be courting for help in their attempt to achieve the Wildcard slot. I'll be adding one a day from the list as it gets updated and providing more information as it becomes available/relevant.

Description: The Achenar Immortals are a group founded by one of the Moderators of the Facebook Elite Dangerous Community with a fictional figurehead loosely based on his ingame persona (see below image). They are little known outside of the Facebook Community, however have ties to the Prismatic Imperium and their in-game neighbours United German Commanders (UGC), whom they have assisted in a few campaigns in the past. Until the recent implementation of their faction they have for the most part avoided Background Simulation gameplay and have been disinterested in Powerplay at best throughout it’s lifespan, focusing on their own internal events.

Description: Adle’s Armada rose to prominence firstly within the reddit community and was later mentioned in the Newsletter during the Quiviran CG, where they engaged in a zealous blockade of the Imperial Outpost, and has since restyled itself as the protectors of ‘Newbie Space’ adopting Eravate as their home. Whilst known for being successful with its own style of PvP, they had fully withdrawn from Powerplay until recently, despite making it known their desire to be a power since the release of 1.3 and have relied heavily on outsourcing to project their influence in the BGS.

Description: Black Omega have an extremely limited online presence, but at present it can be divined that they are a pro-open Archon Delane supporting player group that operat out of the Pegasi sector.

Description: The Blackbirds are one of the premier groups within the French player base and style themselves as independent mercenaries, partaking in Open world PvP and BGS combat, featuring in Episode 9 of the Educating Ed stream which showed their war with the Elite Secret Service.
Outside of combat with other player factions, they have also been supporting the Emperor’s Dawn terrorist faction in various CG’s, as well as assisting in the protection of traders flying in open trying to beat the pirate ‘blockades’ and partaking in discussions regarding the future of exploration and colonisation at the first symposium of the Pioneers Cooperative.

Description: The Wolves are a player group who's origin stem from Wulffpack.net and are formed around Commander ChaosWulf a well regarded youtube video streamer and have styled themselves as an independent Dictatorship.
They courted minor controversy in some Powerplay circles when their faction was inserted into Jonai, which impacted negatively on the Hudson PP faction which held sway over the system. Recently their faction’s members have mostly been observed taking part in the distant worlds expedition and various Buckyball runs.

Hi

I'm CMDR Elenar, leader of the Achenar Immortals.

Not sure it matters much, but a few small things. We have 230 members, and were founded in May 2015.

In addition to Prismatic Imperium and UGC, we also work closely with the 13th Legion. More recently, we have also started engaging with Screenius Rebuy Maximus and the SDC. Like CMDR Goose says, I'm a moderator on the facebook Eliteangerous community, and also active within that group's 8th Dragon Squadron. And lastly, we have also worked with those filthy Hutton Orbital Truckers on occasion.

As for BGS and PowerPlay; we were VERY active until Emperor Arissa Lavigny-Duval came to power. Since then, members have supported other factions to gain technology, like Prismatic shields.

We have a strong Lore and are very interested in the Lore of Eliteangerous in general.

We're excited about being part of this - becoming a PowerPlay faction is why the group was founded.

Not a problem, and thanks for the offer, but I'm trying to do this as a sitting on the outside looking in thing. I know my sig says I'm an Achenar Immortal, but that's due to INARA sigs being a big piece of borkey mess when it comes to updating (I've been independent for the past 3 or so months).

I'm fairly sure you'll be writing a fairly lengthy treatise on the matter over the coming months. Are you still pushing for that Limpet thing as your PP reward?

Adle's Armada is the oldest, most powerful and most well established Federation aligned group in Elite Dangerous. We were formed out of a deep need for a positive combat force in the game, therefor we go where we feel that there are injustices in the Galaxy. At our very core, we're dedicated to stopping piracy, terrorism and any other negative force that can harm innocent players. Adle's Armada is based out of the legendary system of Eravate, the most attacked and well defended player group controlled system in the game. We have a need for both dedicated PvP and PvE players. As for the limpets, they would be AWESOME however I think they would need a balance pass like they can only be used on wanted CMDRs or something like that. If not a limpet then something like an FSD sniper rifle or something like that lol.

Over recent months Laius has rekindled the embers of his former unit on the outer edges of the Pegasi Sector, reinventing it as supplier of military equipment and security services, with more nefarious business-lines operating below the surface. Ever cautious of once again incurring the wrath of the superpowers, Laius has wisely kept his organisation low-key and has struck up several alliances with neighbouring pirate factions, including Delaine's Kumo Crew.

Yes a lot of player groups sadly a lot of players still think POWERPLAY was and is a very bad idea. As one if not the oldest player groups in game that is already in ten systems and still spends a lot of time helping the new players. The Rangers will probably be opting out unless when the members have finished voting the majority want to take part. If we opt out that will leave at least one space for one of the smaller groups to move up the list. To vote and say you want to take part or to join as a new member please check out the links in this post that I will be adding.

Yeah, it's something that needs to be looked at by all groups I think as well as the other stuff. Really in my mind it should all be cleared and set up by the time the voting for the wildcard starts.

"My friends, today I am pleased and ecstatic to share with you this news. Reports show that a new contender for galactic favor is about to enter the stage. We don't know who it will be yet, but several possibilities exist. The esteemed Dukes of Mikunn, the leader of the Social Eleu Progressive Party and others have already been named. What is most exciting is that I have also been added to this list!

To anyone who might suggest this will be used to usurp control of any part of Alliance space, please be at ease. My intention is to bring freedom in all forms, especially economic and political to more systems. I have had discussions with Prime Minister Edmund Mahon. He will always have my unequivocal support.
