Prioritize the staff.

The staff should have a panic mode. At a certain time the barrier of a dangerous animal was at 1% before collapse, and I was waiting and waiting for the mechanic to show up. I really already called them when the barrier was at 15%. Turned out 4 of them had a coffee break and 1 was doing research in the shop. Every zoo worker should have the well being of the animals on the first place, visitors second place and his cup of coffee third place.
But no; A keeper doesn't gives a shiny ....... when an animal is starving. Sorry, I'm having a break, stuff you with your animals. I am a lvl 5 overpaid worker, and more worth a month than that animal in his whole life time.

I mean, how can a zoo keeper sit down and drink coffee, while animals are are starving. Even if it is his zone, and he has only one thing to do, his priorities are completely wrong and firing him doesn't make a difference. They are all programmed to take care of their own needs first and animals second.

When I see that happen, I simply box the animal and send it away to the trade center, but it doesn't make me happy. At least the vet knows his/her priorities and stops any research to recollect a sick or injured animal.

And Ps. Emergency capture is cheaper than waiting for the vet to show up with a tranquilizer. ;)

Like in Planet Coaster sometimes it's helpful to manually pick up and drop a mechanic where he is needed in an emergency.

Staff work area assignments help immensely with this assuming proper quantity and spacing of staff structures.

Tried that He simply walks back to where I picked him from. And than I get so frustrated that I sack him and drop a new mechanic who instantly takes on the job at hand.
Work zones don't matter when they are on a coffee break.

The caretakers run when they have an animal to put in an enclosure. I wonder how difficult it is to program the mechanics to run to something that is broken/very close to breaking, or keepers to run to fill food if an animal is starving?
