Prismatic Engineer Upgrade

I believe prismatic shield, as well as other faction specific modules, is well indeed upgradable via engineers.

Though I didn't exactly try modding one myself.
 
Oh yes indeedy you can.. my corvette prismatics now have 3,500 shields (with boosters) But I havent maxed all the boosters yet either, so I think I can still get a little more.

Only one question - how long does it take to recharge the beast?) For this very reason I mod my boosters for resistances, rather than added strength. Not sure how much I lose in terms of survivability, but it works for me.

So... I guess it is SCB spam then? Or treating the shields as a non-regenerating armour and return to base once they are low? Because those 3500 MJ equal about 1 full hour of passive regeneration...:D

Thats a big issue with the shield tanks , my cutter has 4500 Mj of shielding and waiting on them to fully recharge is a play session all of its own ... The biggest issue is that shields are negated by thermal shock and thermal cascade which renders them pointless in pvp as youll cook inside the shields without losingva single Mj.

Bumping resistance will hit the 75% limit for thermal damage rather quickly. I also prefer this rather than solely bumping MJs, both of my Cutter and Vette have 1 or 2 MJ boost and the rest are resistance, reinforced bi-weave. This made SCB actually usable.

Nearly an hour for 50% - 100%. Class 8 SCB only helps one third of your shield and still gain heat while heat sink sucking.

Too long, but jumping into supercruise helps to recharge them, or I just use one of my 2 class 7 SCB's

You have point defense on it?

Oh, indeedy.. 2 class 7 scb's and take the heat damage, not the best solution, but it only spikes to about 120 and quickly drops.. If I am desperate them I jump into supercruise since they charge faster in supercruise now.

But full pips to shields is just hilarious when entering a haz res with engineer commodities on board...

So far I have

Level 5 Dirty Drives
Level 5 FSD Range Increase
Level 5 Charge Enhanced Distributor (I am considering changing this out though for capacity.. Upgraded pulses drain it super fast)
Level 5 Prismatic Shields
Random leveled Shield Boosters
Random leveled Pulse and MC's <--- working on these right now.

The corvette is a vicious beast (PVE), Still trying to figure out the right PVP build though

Now try swapping 70% of your heavy duty into resistance augmented.

They what? When was this introduced? I still remember how shields originally instantly reset to full when switching instances between supercruise and normal flight because the game didn't track the shield status across these transitions. I was so happy when that got fixed. And now you are telling me FD intentionally sped up regeneration in SC?

I remember that too, didnt need SCB's just hop to supercruise then come back in again.. lol

But yes, in one of the most recent patches they made the Shields charge faster in supercruise. I think it was to help combat against all the Interdictions where people were getting interdicted more than a few times and having no shields.

I think the rate is doubled, but I could be wrong.

The rate is doubled in SC, but still quicker to dock and recharge on the pad.

And here I am, staying in normal flight until the shields have regenerated so I am full in case I get immediately interdicted again...
 
I have 4859 standard shields modded to lv5 reinforced and 7 lv5 heavy duty boosters and if I am on my own in a res/cz once the cells are exhausted it's time to leave because they take well over 30 minutes to recharge, takes alot to get them down though! Luckily I'm in a wing and me and my wingman have sequence regeneration on one of the huge beams, recharging eachother literally takes seconds :)
