Private Data Beacon: Encoded Firmware

While investigating a signal source (which, by the way, is now fun to do again. Thank you FD, I genuinely enjoy it. You've created additional "purpose" for every activity in the game, and it makes a world of difference. Excellent work) I came across a "private data beacon." I selected the beacon and scanned it, and when the scan completed I was sent a message about "specialized legacy firmware." Some other additional text seemed to indicate that something had been downloaded/upgraded on my ship as well. I cannot for the life of me figure out what this beacon did. No other martial that I've collected, or data that I've scanned off of a ship, has had all of these extra things happen when I acquired it.

Does anyone have an idea as to why this particular item stands out?

A lot of the data you obtain has a message that is sent to you with descriptive text. (Almost always the data you get from the 'Data Beacons')

Just a bit of spice text to explain why anyone would remotely be interested in it as a crafting component when you scan one of them and find data from what I can tell from beta and live.

So far I've come across 5 or so different bits of data from various data beacons and everyone one of them has had messages associated with them, 4 during beta and 1 yesterday evening on the live build where I scanned one and got some encrypted transmissions about goings on in a location that couldn't be determined.

Some are brief sentences and rather interesting as 'fluff pieces', other are just very generic and leave you going "Why bother to send that as a message?".... like I found a version of the firmware data that was 'Very rare' and was some proprietary corporate firmware or some such, and that was basically the entirety of the message... stating it was proprietary corporate firmware.

And, what do we do with these?
