Engineers Private Data Beacon

I just scanned 9 of private data beacon and I got 'nothing'. I scanned them in the Encoded USS, and i did it one by one. I also closed and opened a game, with closing a launcher.

This working like that or this is some bug?

There was no info about full data.

You get a message when it's full.

My data was full when I scanned a set of settlement data points and I got no system message, it simply failed to give me any data drops. It would be nice if it gave you a message consistently (and even better if you had the option to discard data and then re-scan) but for many players it just looks like the data drop is "broken" without any system message showing.

There have been some issues with comms messages in game; including "phantom" ranking messages, messages with no body of text etc. so perhaps it's related to this as well.

This issues has been brought to FD's attention and I believe they are looking into it. Perhaps the next patch (2.1.05) may have a fix.

The message only comes up the first time your databank is filled. Have to be paying attention. After that you just get trolled.

We're being trolled? I thought that maybe there was just an Engineer upgrade that will tell me when my data bank is full and I needed to grind for it first.

If got too much of certain data, I just simply discard it. Dont need more than 20 units of each data... Having more than this is simply waste of space...

OK. It's a bit of lazy coding, which I myself have been guilty of from time to time.

It's obviously a cut and paste of the "cargo hold full" code. When your cargo hold is full you get a warning. Whenever you open your cargo hatch when your cargo hold is full you get a warning. You don't successfully scoop when your hold is full but you get visual feedback when the canister glides by your ship. The problem is that data is not cargo.

You get the message when your data is full. But, there is no "data hatch" for you to open or close when you scan, so no trigger for the second circumstance of seeing the message. Data isn't floating in space so when you scan something and your data is full you get no visual feedback that something is amiss.

It's not trolling but it just feels like it. Maybe a constructive path would be to post it as a bug? :p

collecting over 60 of galvanising alloy to get reverberating cascade for two torpedo racks for convoy attacks :D

Lol, not going to use favors? Or you just aim for perfect rolls with these effects?

it's more of a fun project ... it really makes no sense .... especially because a cutter of high value cargo can bring you right back to Level 2 with liz. but with that project, everytime a npc dies, i go like: cool! another galvanising alloy!
