Private Group and friends

I have formed a Private Group and now want to invite a pal, who has only recently bought the game, to join it so we can wing up, how do i do this please (do we both have to be in open etc.)?
A basic list of what to do to invite a player to my Private Group and how to then wing up would be great.
Ive looked at Youtube but cant find anything relevant to XBox or anything less than a few years old.

I *think* you have to choose an option on your main menu? "Friends & Private Groups", I think? Anyway, if that's correct, then you should get a list of friends who also play. IIRC, just select the name you're after, and "Invite to PG" should be right there.

I may very well be mistaken.

on the main menu go to friends and private group, there will be a menu of everyone who you have added, press A on your friends gt and invite hm to your private group, if you and him are both in solo there is no way you can come across a player, only private swith whoever you invited and open which has everybody.

Once your friend has joined your group, both simply select start, private group, then the group you are both members of and voila
