Congratulations to Profs Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz, who have been awarded a Nobel Prize, and a first discovery bonus of 4.5 million kronor, for 51 Pegasi b - the first confirmed exoplanet found around a main sequence star!
I'd also like to mention how cool it is that I've got a virtual galaxy here on my desk, so after reading the news, I can fly there for a visit. For what it's worth, the scene is not much different from the various "artist renderings" floating around in the news articles. Not much there in 3305 though. Maybe the system could do with a visitors' beacon?
