pro-grade and retrograde vectors

Hi all !

I just wanted to suggest something that seems simple to implement: Prograde and retrograde vectors on the canopy.

It would be very useful and immersive !

It would be nice to have an indicator of the direction your ship is heading regardless of the direction you are directly pointed at and an opposite marker telling you that you are facing the opposite direction of travel.

As for prograde and retrograde, aren't these more used for orbiting in freefall, as in not under constant power, due to our current technological limitations?
in a ship able to power itself all the way they kinda become redundant because you are never not in control or under control of gravity?

I know stardust shows it but it's neither precise nor realistic. It would be very useful whith FA off and could only be active in this mode.

Prograde and Retrograde are used in orbit as you are always somehow along an orbital trajectory. You never are completely motionless except maybe in Elite but nevertheless it could be a nice immersive way to help you fly with FA off.
 
It could be a really cool idea I think, maybe in an advanced HUD module .. for purchase?

You could probably make a range of modules, with toggle-able augmented reality indicators suited to different careers. Combat is the obvious one maybe, with these vector indications, or maybe current bounty info of the target. For explorers it might be a readout to show reachable stars on the skybox, or pre-targeting moons, in order so you scan the nearest first as info from the HUD. Traders might see market info, pirates might get long range data on in-system authority vessels from the dark web ...
