I have not got any weekly powerplay tasks.

They can take a while to come through, especially when you get above rank 40 and get more of them - I had five when I first logged in yesterday, and then the other five showed up after I'd made a hyperjump.
If you are completely new, it may just be that you haven't completed the first batch yet - do that to get a complete set of tasks next week, along with a rank and associated perks.
If you had done those already, yes, it can take a bit and sometimes a few relogins/restartings of the client.

there is never a silly question about pp2 we are all just guessing about it,how im getting things done are not in the book lol
I SPENT most of yesterday collecting exploration data handed it in to lamda 2 as instructed but this transaction does not show on my power play dashboard
Last Thursday I only saw a single task in the weeklies, however whilst I was doing other stuff I apparently completed another task that wasn't showing. This revealed the rest of the tasks so I suspect a display bug.
is it me being a thicko i have travelled the universe AGAIN honking my d scanner as i go, sell my data as instructed in PP AND STILL DOES NOT REGISTER IN MY DASH BOARD but i get the credits
no its just pp2 you aint the only one i dont expect,but try doing a fss scan on the system,not just the honk ,give it a try ive not had that one to do.
thanks thats alot of fss scans to over 400000 credits
i am with winters and if the task comes up.im going to skip it, but up to you .
The following method has consistently worked for me:
Fly to a stronghold system controlled by your power
select the powerplay contact in a port in that system.
You now have weekly assignments.

If this is in the "Sell Exploration Data" assignment, I had the same issue and received this from Cmdr Ian Doncaster: "You need to sell mapped ELWs, AWs or terraformable WWs specifically to get exploration merits, and therefore to complete the assignments. (There may be other issues, too)"
I went into Inara and found WWs, ELWs, etc - did a detailed surface scan of a few and received full credit in the assignments area. Something didn't work - I don't recall if it was "terraformed" worlds vice "terraformable" worlds; I think WWs worked. Many thanks to Cmdr Ian Doncaster and I would quote the entry but don't know how....
