Newcomer / Intro Probably a stupid question...but here goes.

I've been out of ED for a while (about 5 months) due to life happening and after watching Down to Earth Astronomy the other day, I decided to go out out to HIP 36601 and do some crystal fragment hunting. I filled up my Polonium bucket, and remembered that I had made up an Excel sheet to keep track of my materials that I could print out and manually update. (yeah, pencil and paper, High tech stuff!)

So I found the file, printed it up, hopped into the ship and started writing down numbers...that is when I found some discrepancies. It seems that not all the items that I had put into the sheet back in 2019 are listed in the ships inventory anymore. Here is my list of missing items...oh, and I did check...if the bucket has Zero items, it still shows on the list as having Zero items in the ship inventory.

Note: Most Descriptors taken from INARA...So they get the credit for the descriptions listed
Also Noted: There appears to be a pattern concerning all things Thargoid as indicated by the italicized text

Boron - Doesn't show in the ship inventory any more.

I am assuming that Thargoid stuff has been removed as "recoverable components". Also, I know that there had been an change in material grading (G4/G5 stuff) so I think that some of these have been consolidated, but not sure into what.

Then there is the Boron...it is a Grade 3 item, and it is no longer listed in my ships inventory. Did they decide that Boron was voted out of the galaxy?

Sorry again if this question has been asked by someone else...I also don't need an item by item answer, just a general answer will be fine.

Thank you all for your help...yeah, my OCD is kicking in on this and if some of these items have been removed from the game, I can remove them from my list ;)

Most (or all but I dont have them all so dont know) are still there in game so maybe some sort of memory wipe of some things you havent got any of...maybe youll get a new 'discovered new material' message next time you find them? Dunno just speculating.

If it helps here are lists of all current engineering materials

Did you accidentally log in the base game instead of Hoizons?
No, I don't believe so...I was in my ship, landed, on HIP36601 C1A at the time I was taking stock of my inventory. So as far as I know I was in Horizons...But, I did have an odd thing happen on Wednesday. I had launched out of Ohm City in LHS20, got about 6 km out and my network/internet connection dumped and I was dumped out of the game. After I got back in (when everything reset) I set a course for HIP 36601 and 20 some-odd jumps later, then 156ks SC trip, and I was at C1A. I landed as usual, and then logged out for the night.

Thursday I hopped in the SRV, loaded up on Polonium, and logged out. Today (Friday) is when I started this whole mess by thinking that having a written inventory list was a good thing.

Haven't been back in tonight, I'll save that for tomorrow and see what the day brings. If there are any changes, I'll post and let you know.

Thanks Commanders! o7

I understand, and in fact, I am linked up with INARA...but like books, I just like to have a piece of paper to hold, look at, update...yeah, I'm old. ;)
That, and also, most people (like me) don't have a second monitor. So a "kneepad" of the traditional sort is much quicker and more comfortable to use. :)

Well, after rebooting my computer, starting the game in Horizons and Regular, the missing items from the list are still missing. So I sent a ticket into FDEV, and we'll see what happens.

Thanks for the help Commanders! o7

Got a reply back from FDEV (much quicker than I expected! Thanks guys!) concerning the missing stuff that should be listed in the inventory. As I suspected, there is no ulterior motive, they aren't turning the Thargoids into our best friends...at least I didn't get that impression...but anyway, it is probably just a ghost in my machine that will have to work itself out. Either with a new update, or when I do come across something in the missing list (may have to go to a Guardian Site to look for the missing stuff) to see if I can force it to show.

That way, 1) it will be locatable on the planet, I can recover it, and it will then show up...2) I can go to the site, and those items do not show up at all (would have to contact FDEV again), or 3) I go, I find, I recover, and it does not show up in my inventory listing (again would require another FDEV ticket)

So for now, I am happily driving around the various moons in the HIP 36601 system, picking up bits of stuff, Geyser Surfing (hit 3.2 km in altitude on one!), and generally having a good time.
