Probably a very stupid question, but hopefully somebody can help me

Hey guys :)

I've been playing ED for about a week now, and noticed something new that started happening this morning.
While I'm in game, a black splash screen kind of box has started popping up randomly, with 3 white dots at the top, and 3 bars at the bottom that look like a loading screen of sorts. I never noticed this prior to today, but now it's happening a LOT and it's really messing with the immersion.

I'm using a HTC Vive.

Cheers dudes.

HTC Vive User reporting in - I have seen this, again about a week after I had been using it - turns out my Wife for some reason thought it would be good to cover patially one of the radio boxes (I am sure it has a proper name but its one of the 2 boxes that tracks you as you are ingame), anyway - after I explained to her in no uncertain terms that that was my sh*t and leave it the alone (in reality, Please Love I need that to fly my Space Ship properly, promise not to touch it again and I will buy you a dress xxxxxx ). After I cleared the obstruction, I reset my Room Setup in Steam VR and Heypresto - not seen it since.

Hope this helps

Eric

Check you are plugged into a USB 3.0 port if you have it. 2.0 if not. My wife sometimes plugs in USB keys and plugs it back into the wrong port.

May be a cause.

Thank you for the reply, fellas :)

It must be something with the lighthouses then. I did move them upstairs the day before and then back downstairs afterwards, and some adjustment of the boxes on their tripods did take place.
Will need to try and run room setup again and see if this fixes it. The black popup is definitely coming from Steam VR because I noticed it's the same popup that comes up when you load ED in Steam Big Picture, but it just keeps coming up frequently in-game now.

I'll let you know how I go :)

Thanks again.

See cheru2016, not "stupid question".
Also help me out, as just started having this problem myself. Though system was loading between jumps :/ Maybe new drivers?
But now will check lighthouse (I think that's what they are called) locations, after adjusting them for Vanishing Realms (Good use of VR).

So it's happening to you guys too as of a day ago. Very interesting. Well, Steam did roll out an update to Steam VR, so that may have something to do with it, indeed. It's a massive immersion killer though.

I've found running ED through the launcher and not clicking "PLAY" in Steam reduces the instances of it happening from frequently to every-so-often, but I want to be done with it for good. Not a fan lol.

Report back if you find anything else out :)

Sadly this seems to be Stream or ED update.
In VR during jump to another system vortex shows for a short time loading window with "with 3 white dots at the top, and 3 bars". Bars go up and down.
Without changing any settings, playing ED without VR during jump to another system vortex animation stops for a second or 2.

So question is who broke what THIS TIME?

It looks like some clever cookie at Steam HQ decided to put a loading screen up every time something loads. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but someone messed up somewhere for sure.

Ok more information on this problem.
Think this might be related to Beta-SteamVR under Steam VR Properties. On switching back to "None - Opt out of all Beta programs", problem now gone.
