Due to the overall viability of mapped mining can we get subspace ship position and heading exposed in the api as a request throttle the response time if needed. So people can't spam it. Would allow people to map runs and have previously discovered routes sharable with a quest arrow like overlay Ala WoW. Or some kind of asteroid marking device that can be installed for previously visited and prospected rocks. Like a beacon launcher or something.

Would settle for a grid in the scanner so it can be used for navigation doesn't help with elevation but it would be useful none the less since in space there is no up you'd need to provide yourself a reference point.

IHMO this could do with a "nerf" by making the seed that determines the asteroid composition dependent on a timestamp of the current time with daily resolution. Similarly to how two-factor authentication works (where the time slices for the resulting number from the shared secret is 30 seconds instead)

Asteroid mapping is unrealistic and, due to the constant motion nature of space debris, unfeasible.

Even unmapped credit earnings by mining is reasonable enough.
