Engineers Probably odd/stupid question but...

Does engineering cost credits in addition to materials? I ask because I am suddenly 174,000,000 credits lighter than I was a few days ago, and literally the only thing I have been doing is farming USS and Engineering a few of my ships. Looking at the logs on INARA, it says I spent the credits in the category "ships and modules" though I haven't bought any ships, I haven't had to rebuy, and I have only purchased 3 or 4 modules, none of which were anything that could total 174,000,000 credits. As a point of note, my assets amount hasn't changed at all in either direction.

I am a bit baffled and surprised. I wasn't planning on buying any new ships anytime soon, but taking an unexplained hit that big does dampen one's hopes for their goals.

I thought not.

And, now that I posed the question, I figured out what happened. I know where the credits went. They indeed went into purchases... though not with my knowledge. My daughter (she's 5) loves to watch me fly; sits on my lap and I let her steer and/or work the throttle from time to time. She loves jumping to hyperspace/witchspace. On occasion, she will jump into my seat while I am out of the room using the restroom or grabbing us a snack. I remember such a moment the other night while I was swapping out a few modules on my Krait Phantom before heading out to the engineers. I had left the screen up with the modules, and when I came back into the room she was sitting in my chair, beaming, "helping" upgrade the ship (which happens to be named after her). Turns out she had bought some reactive surface composites and put the ones that were on the ship into storage. I say some because it seems she did it twice, lol.

Easy fix, I'm less confused, and now I know to have a talk with her about clicking on things again. I'm not even mad: I'm just thrilled that she is as excited about the game as I usually am.

Fortunately, you can sell modules for full price, so no loss there...
Thus the easy fix. Honestly, I was less concerned that the credits were spent, and more just surprised that I had suddenly lost such an amount with no idea where. Now I know it was my little curly-haired gremlin :) Best co-pilot in the 'verse; not very good with money. ;) :D
