Probes and barnacles

I'm quite new the Elite and have been following the UA situation. I've one question, have probes and barnacles been discover in the same system?
Maybe the probe, if undiscovered or fails to locate a signal within a set time, becomes the seed for a barnacle to grow. Stage 1 alien Terra forming.

BUT, since you're here, and well, I represent a group of explorers, I'm fairly sure that UA and UPs have not been found in the same system.
As for your suspicion about Barnys being xeno-formers, I've said that myself a few times, especially as there's evidence that there's underground activity, plus the gases being expelled. Xeno-former OR maybe alien refineries collecting the elements which can then be turned into Meta Alloys.

We might learn more from next week with 1.7/2.2 dropping, but it remains to be seen.
