why do i only get ED in a small screen on my laptop after using oculas rift

I'm not sure why it does that, but it is something that Elite or Oculas does. You can use the excellent program by Dr. Kaii to quickly change between VR and regular gameplay settings.

You can specify what resolution the game displays on your monitor when you are in VR make it smaller than normal and IN NO CIRCUMSTANCES make it bigger than your screen resolution.
I did this once and it made the game on the monitor so big I had no way to access the menu to kill it or change it back.
