Problem with Civil War system faction rotation...

Hi, I have started exploring the new "Massacre"-type missions in systems that are in "Civil War" mode, and there are four factions in the system I chose: Authoritarians Vs Liberals, and Comms Vs Syndicate. I have taken six missions from the Liberals to massacre Authoritarians, and it went great last night, filled up half of my mission quota (40 out of 72 ships), but this morning I log on and none of the Conflict Zones are inhabited by Authoritarians and Liberals any more, only Comms vs Syndicate.

My question is, how can I know when the Authoritarians and Libs will get back to fighting again? The Libs still hand out massacre mission offers to me, even though I can't find where they fight anymore. What should I do? I have 7 hours left on the contracts, and about 14 million riding on it...

It is possible that it's due to the buggy nature of CZs currently. There were issues in the recent combat community goal.

Try reloading into different game modes, sometimes they only show in open, sometimes only in solo. Its a bit random.

Also remember CZs only show up when you are under 1000 ls in range, so you may need to do some travelling to all the planets in system.

Aha, I see. Will be patient, and 1K LS, gotcha. Also, that is one trolling gif under your name...

One thing: last time I completed a mission for the Liberals, it said "The Liberals may look more favorably on you" and "The Authoritocracy may issue a Security Lockdown if further terrorist acts are carried out". What does Security Lockdown mean? I already get shot on sight outside the station where I get the missions, because the station guard ships see the bounty on my head, but does "Security Lockdown" mean no more Authoritocracy ships in the CZ? They should be there as long as the Civil War is still enabled, right?

I believe a "Security Lockdown" is simply the faction state of "Lockdown" that could follow should that faction lose the civil war.

I'm not entire sure on the mechanics behind it, but that won't happen until at least next server reset (Thursday?) and it seems to severely limit the normal missions, but increases the illegal missions.

Ooh. Okay, thanks! I was afraid it meant that if I do too many missions for one side, I will ruin my golden goose. Of course one person can't swing a war...

Security lockdown is a state, just like CivWar.
Once the influence difference between the 2 factions involved in the CivWar reaches 3% then it will end on the next 'tick'. Lockdown will close the commodity market and mission board for a period of days, and increase the number of security ships in the system.
The tick is the update that takes place once a day at about 5pm UTC. This is when all the states and faction influence levels are calculated across the galaxy.

Yeah I was checking out systems that were apparently meant to be at War the other day and, no combat zones. lol wot?

Lockdown will never mean a lack of ships. If anything they'll increase the number of system authority ships and if your Authoritarian is in control of the system, you'll see a higher number of their ships since they control the system authority.

Lockdown does mean that when the Civil War ends, any stations controlled by that faction will end up locking you out of missions, the trade commodities, and various other services. They are in a "Lockdown". War states however overrule this until it's complete.

Security for the system will go up during a lockdown but at the expense of wealth and other assorted statuses meaning life is going to go very badly.

The length of a Lockdown can go for weeks but can be reduced to a single day by turning in Bounty Vouchers from shooting wanted ships. So Nav Point, RES Hunting, and SC interdiction will help you prevent/end a Lockdown.

Lockdowns are triggered by the death of system authority ships, clean vessels, and pirate attacks by players.

You kidding? I'm taking control of a system all by myself doing just that.

Good stuff, nice blow-by-blow there. Hey, here's an update: so during the last hour, just as I finished my last Massacre-mission and was going home (I hadn't turned it in yet), the faction I've been working for (Liberals) somehow took control over the station I do the missions from, it was wild! It used to be a russian-english male voice and a no-nonsense mailslot, and suddenly as I come home, there are advert strips outside the airlock, and a british-sounding female voice running the station. I thought the civil war was over and my side had won, but I checked the Galaxy Map and the system is still at Civil War (fortunately for me). This was the first time I've seen literal change in the game within a day's time, pretty cool.

Sounds like the war is almost over then.

When a faction wins the Civil War, the largest station asset controlled by the losing faction is transferred to the control of the victor. In this case your Liberals were fighting the controlling faction and by winning the war seized the largest station in the system which happens to be the controlling station. They are now in control of the system.

In which case, the war between your Liberals and Authoritarians is over. That one is dried up.

Your Comms vs Syndicate still appears to be going and the system will remain in civil war until you fix that.

Once that's done, all factions will enter a cooldown period where they cannot engage in any other states so there will be peace for awhile.

...Of course you could always support the losing faction until their influence is equalized with the winner and you could start up another war...

Awesome. Is there a way to check the level of influence of a given faction in a system? Does it ever say somewhere in percentages?
