I bought a new PC in Jan and finally got round to playing Elite again the other day. I'd already backed up and copied my custom controller profile across and spaceship controls using my TM wartohog hotas Work fine, FSS mouse controls also work fine. Today I landed on a moon and I use a gamepad for the SRV...nothing happened. Checked bindings and ALL the gamepad bindings were there, tried setting them again but it's like Elite is not seeing my pad anymore. I checked my controllers in Win 10 and all are there and seem to be working fine. Why is the game no longer "seeing" my gamepad (wired 360 pad)?

Stating the obvious here, but have you tried unplugging the pad then plugging it back in?
Experienced today... I hadn't played Elite since months. Just for fun. I wanted to try with a PS4 pad bought a week ago (1st gamepad ever). plugged it... Elite overwrote all my T16k+ keyboard bindings. Now what might relate to your problem. I plugged joystick and pad : nothing worked. I had to restart the game with the pad only to make it work.
cheers lads, I did try unplugging/replugging pad at the time to no avail, but logging on just now and it's all working fine. So looks like unplugging/replugging+game restart fixed it!
