problem with downloading..

Hello,

Wanted to return to Elite, I had horizons one, when launch launcher it said that I have downloaded "legacy horizons", so but I played "Elite dangerous: horizons" one. "Ok" think I, pressed to download "Elite dangerous: horizons" and launcher freezed and Its all.. Tried to reinstal game but nothing changed.

Is there any solution for this?

The slow progress (or apparent long wait) seems to be a common complaint. I have never suffered it (luckily) but I see people mention an issue with microsoft defender and the download having issues and suggesting to examine what is going on in task manager.

That. In my case, it's clearly visible in the task manager that Defender and ED are fighting over disk access - and I have a fast system with an SSD.
There are at least two workarounds - basically disable either of the two from messing with the disk data - but I just wait it out. After both are satisfied that nothing bad is happening/the files are all there where they should be, the actual download commences as usual.
