Problem with getting Sulphur or any material actually...

I am trying to make couple upgrades with engineers but one of them needs sulphur. The problem is that I spend 3 days going from planet to planet to find any of those planet deposites, I cant find even 1... I cant find anything else besides sulphur either... there are no "white" targets, no shootable rocks or anything... nothing... also i have been to extraction systems to get a mining laser to mine the sulphur but no luck there either... cant find any mining lasers... am I doing something horribly wrong? I am so tired, hardly slept for 3 days. Got a terrible headache :( can someone pls tell me what I am doing wrong? Currently I am in the system where Felicity engineer is.

Hmm, it is strange, because sulphur, iron, nickel etc. are omnipresent on almost all planets.
Do you know how to use the wake scanner in SRV ?

P.S. If you are not familiar how to use the wake scanner, try to find some videos at YouTube. Basically, you need to look at the scanner screen, listen the sound and drive to the direction of scanner lines.

Yeah, its pretty common. When I'm doing a surface salvage mission I often have a quick skeg around for nearby rocks... sulfur is something I usually bin. Look for geologically active planets, I'm pretty sure that helps.

You can also get it from low level trader mission rewards, but if your dead set on using your SRV to obtain it check here:

You're trying too hard. The game knows what you want.
Go look for something else, like yttrium for example. This guarantees you'll find everything you need.. except yttrium :)
More seriously, I've been cruising around on Deciat 7b a lot lately. Found plenty of resources including sulphur.
Also, if you don't see anything on the radar or get nothing but low level stuff, reload the game.
Can't proof it, but it looks like mats are determined when loading the instance.

But OP wrote that he did not find any shootable rocks at all. And this is really strange.

Try mining in a pristine metal ring, use prospectors to find roids with medium to high materials and blast em. Guarantee sulpher will turn up and loads more.

I suspect the OP is wandering around expecting to find (see) white dots all over the place not realizing that he has to follow his scanner and be just about on top of it before you'll see a white blip on your radar.

777Driver - great linkage +1 on rep. OP, play with the link 777driver provided. Head in the direction of the "blips" and as you get closer and closer, the width of the "bands" get narrower and more defined or focused. Once they're just about a narrow bar on the scanner, you'll see a rock that is slight different colored from the surrounding rocks. A few seconds later, you'll see a while blip on your radar screen.

Thanks for the replies! I will have a look tomorrow morning on my wave scanner if its turned on but as far as i could tell it was working. There is a sensor sweep thing going from left to right and all what it did was show me some tracing of orange. No matter how long i followed the signals, I never found any rocks i could blow up. Out of desperation i started shooting at anything from pebble size to big rocks, but it did nothing... And the site for equipment is very helpful! I will take a look as well tomorrow. What just bugs me is that planets contain 0 "mining rocks"... well atleast to me :/

Indeed awesome linkage! I have allready tried following those bands but no avail :/ I will try again tomorrow. I unplugged my pc maybe that would help lol

Okay guys! Thanks for all the help! I succesfully mined a lot at a planet now. In the beginning nothing was popped up but after I switched couple times from open play to online and back, everything is working now. Thank you all for your time and help!
