Problem with traversable area (staff)

Hello everyone,

I've had a problem for a long time, which unfortunately has existed for a very long time and which has caused some of my animals to starve over time.^^

It's about the traversable area of the staff in enclosures. On some enclosures the display works and on some it doesn't. I've tried all sorts of things. It seems that the only working enclosures are the first build ones.

(Franchise, zoo created 1 year ago, with over 100 enclosures over time, almost 500 ingame years)

I hope someone can help me or at least someone with the same problem :)

Thank you!

I have this same issue, mostly with exhibits where the entrance gate is covered by a cave or other similar covering.

I think it's just the heatmap bugging out because the entrace path into the habitat is technically blocked for the keepers, but their entry animation makes them walk right through anyway. I had that happen with my Jaguar house: there were chainlink fences rather close to the gate due to indoor holding and all, and the heatmap showed it as not traversable for keepers, but they could reach everything just fine because that animation made them walk right through the fences.

IIRC as long as the feeders are shown in yellow and you don't get any alerts about keepers not being able to reach stuff, they should be able to fill them. When the whole habitat is grey they can't get in there to fill the feeders, though then they should just throw the food on the floor close to the gate. So it might be something else that causes the starving animals. You can try removing and replacing the gate again or adding another enrichment/food item, those have been known to fix the feeding issue in the past.

Now, you say that, but in my snow leopard habitats I have feeders up on the rock formations (which I designed with keeper access in mind) that show in yellow, but the keepers never fill them, and instead dump meat on the ground.

Well, I did say if I remember it right. Maybe it was changed in the meantime, but they were definitely filling the yellow feeders in my habitat, even though the heatmap showed they couldn't reach it. It's weird.

It was more that if you're right and the yellow means they should be reachable, there might be a second bug at play in my zoo as well.

The staff traversible map really isn't clear in any case. I don't know why they did it the way they did; I would have done it on a habitat-by-habitat basis rather than a full map of the zoo. I think it would be less buggy that way.
