Newcomer / Intro Problems at RES

Having just begun to visit some RES for BH purposes I have to ask:
Just what is it that is being extracted at these sites - Bostik?
Several times now I have become glued firmly in place - like a fly on flypaper - headed towards one of these places at maximum throttle and (literally) getting nowhere fast.
I'm guessing I am being held back by the planet's gravity.
Is there a special way to approach these sites?

I find it quicker to circle round and come in from the other side. That way if there is a gravitational effect it would be pulling you towards your destination.

1. The asteroids in the RES contain metals. So platinum, gold, copper etc etc
2. There is a circle around the planet. Avoid it. It shows the gravitational effect as the poster above writes. Just take a wide circle around the planet and approach your destination from the outside.
